Surprised to see this go before some of their unnecessary covers. It's a bit beige but didn't think it was terrible. I wonder what the girls thought recording to that awful demo track.

@Sally_Harper (8) - I love the chorus, the verses aren’t quite as good, but I do love that everybody gets a decent part. Now I have a question - there’s an adlib of “mah HEAAAART” at about 3.27 that I love and always thought was Mollie, but now I listen again I’m not sure. Anyone?

*I think that's Vanessa*
I think it's Mollie too. On the demo, there are ad libs by Rochelle and Una before it and then Frankie and Vanessa after, so I think they got each of them to ad lib but cut some on the final version.

I agree that Vulnerable’s verses are what let’s it down, they’re just not very good. I would have liked to have seen Why Me, Why Now? leave from Chasing Lights before it since it’s my least favourite on the first album but Vulnerable is second.

Bigger is a bit shit but I’ve always had a big soft spot for it.

Gentleman is the worst song on either On Your Radar or Living For The Weekend but I don’t expect it to leave quite yet. Do What You Want With Me is probably next.

I'm a bit saddened to see Vulnerable drop like this, but can see why it would be disadvantaged if someone was using every possible score. I just really like the lyrics and the pre-chorus is great. 9.5.

I have two Chasing Lights tracks with much lower scores, but the other nine are all 10's!

A huge drop off. Just one today because it's Thanksgiving!

Hazey Says | It's all about Una’s verses, to find any solace here. The difference between how she sounds on this and how everyone else does, well there’s tiers, let’s say that. It’s not a very exciting song anyway, but I love her on it, but what’s new? <3 <3 <3 (4)

Written by the legendary songwriter Diane Warren, this was the only true ballad found on Living for the Weekend.

In 2015, there seemed to be a lot of meh or ‘average at best’ talk about this ballad, but one thing was usually a common theme and that was everybody thought Una sounded amazing on it. That's the tea on that then.

Commentary

@Hazey's Mom (10) - A very moving and impactful song.

*She had just commented this morning after reading up on the thread, that she was doing okay after the Grinch moment of losing her Christmas song right off the bat. Oops*

@daninternational (9) - Yes vocals, proper moody

@Attis (8.5) - Oh this is a great ballad!

@Sally_Harper (8) - This song is a bit too relatable. I want to say Rochelle and Mollie are the stars of it in general, but Una’s verse is my favourite lyrically.

@Ezz (8) - It's nice to hear Mollie leading this. Possibly feels a bit more like a B side to a faster single than an album track

@Phonetics Girl (7.5) - My Heart Takes Over Part 2, as in, I dislike the vocals and find it kinda boring but also goes off a tiny bit at the end, so I'm conflicted in my feelings ughh

@JakobVision22 (6) - As someone who's an absolute sucker for a good Dianne Warren song, this one just doesn't have anything that makes it stick out to me. Not terrible, just a non-event.

@saviodxl (5.7) - The weakest of the album, sorry gals.

@louciano (3) - The second verse picks up a lot of slack, the song needed a great climax to succeed. It's a snoozefest generally.

I was going to say something about agreeing on the expecting something more from a Diane Warren write, however looking at her list of songs on wikipedia tells me I'm not exactly a stan for any of the artists she has been a key writer for over the years. *shrugs* Makes sense why my Mom would love it though, seeing names like Whitney and Celine Dion all over that Diane Warren list, makes it obvious. What I am happy about is the fact that "Problem with Love", one of my favorite songs from The Saturdays, was out at #75 in the last rate. I love that song more than this and a lot of the 'bigger' songs on this album, which I honestly came to realize is full of overrated ones in my opinion.

Shoutout Queen

While Mollie and Rochelle have gotten their share of love for this track, it's pretty clear with 8 shoutouts between the two rates, that this is Una's song.

Back tomorrow with #71 and it's also from a post-Headlines album.
