The Saturdays covering The Nolans was inspired. Crashing Down was my highest rated cover, so was happy to see it be the same here, and rise so far since last time. 8.5.

Fall is my highest rated Saturdays ballad. It is gorgeous, I enjoy singing along to the chorus, and the lyrics are interesting and unique. 10.

I'm glad I'm here to tank the shit ones.

Except the more than half of the B-Sides are the 'good ones' and your average score for them was south of 3. That includes this one we're losing today.

Hazey Says | The B-Side to "All Fired Up" and one of their best, but not the best. It kind of has an overall sound to it, especially on the chorus, like it’s a Disney-Pop soundtrack song for one of their teen TV-movies. The soundscape also makes it sound Halloween-y somehow, don’t ask, I can hear it and that’s all that matters to me ddd! This stuff makes most people run for the hills, but I’m always bopping! (9)

For the song that won the B-Sides Collection last time (Wildfire actually was ranked higher), there wasn’t a ton of chatter in the commentary. Mollie got the most shoutouts and a lot of people felt it would’ve sounded perfectly within the On Your Radar tracklist. A couple of people thought it sounded like Womanizer.

Commentary

@louciano (8.5) - Vanessa shines here, even if she gets a bit drowned out by the loud instrumental during the middle eight. Whenever a song says "stop" and it actually stops... it becomes my favourite thing.

@daninternational (8.5) - Up (Halloween Remix)

@Sally_Harper (8) - A bop. The way Mollie yelps “And I just can’t igNORE” is my favourite part.

@Phonetics Girl (7.5) - Nice while it lasts but I forget the hook as soon as it stops.

@Shockbox (4) - This makes me think of that group LoveShy that was made up of the 2 girls from Clea who tried to represent us at Eurovision. This isn't a compliment.

Hey @daninternational knows what I'm talking about! Seriously, itis like the mature version of that Disney song "Calling All the Monsters" or Atomic Kitten's "Something Spooky", etc.

I said Mollie got the most shoutouts, which was my perception when scanning through it, but the count was actually 2-to-2 with Vanessa and is now 3-to-3 after this year's rate. We get another Monessa crown.

The B-Sides get a much-deserved break after this, with "Not That Kinda Girl" ascending to the Top 2 of the section as it should. #28 will take us back the second half of the main discography for the first time since the "Do What You Want with Me" elimination at #39.

This one got two 11's.

Frankly, wouldn't have bat an eyelid if On Your Radar bar All Fired Up and most of Finest Selection went before Ladykiller ddd

May we lose one of my sub-8 scores next plz
(just counted and they represent almost half of this Top 30 yikes!)

Never got the fuss for Ladykiller. It's fine. Can't stand 808 so I find the love for it so odd.

Flashback should have been on an album but alas it is slightly more special as a b-side.

@Ugly Beauty can't say I agree with What About Us. It's one of my favourites from them and would be regardless if it was a single, album track or b-side.

Slightly agree with My Heart Takes Over. Especially as it was released as everyone was seemingly longing for a ballad single.

Plus 30 days.
I’ve never forgotten Peter’s write-up on the main site for it before it premiered. When talking about the noise at the end of the silence in the middle 8, he described it as “a potato hitting a bin” or something to that effect. And I’ve only ever pictured a potato falling into a bin at that part. It doesn’t help that I’m not the biggest fan of 30 Days either, I find it a little bland.

Also just to clarify, it doesn’t sound like a potato hitting/falling into a bin.

(Even though I kind of agree it's the best song left from the album.)

Hazey Says | Only gets ‘penalized’ because the verses aren't anything special, but the chorus is other-worldly. I mean, yeah lyrically they’re kind of right on the nose, but damn I’d be lying if I said it didn’t always touch my heart. It’s one of those warm hug special moments from the girls to me and I truly feel each time I hear it. (9)

Released well before Living for the Weekend as kind of an inbetween time after On Your Radar. #7 in the UK, #2 in Scotland.

The song was premiered on March 30, 2012 on Chris Moyles' BBC Radio 1's breakfast show.

The video starts off with the girls arriving at an American style diner. They enter the diner intending to have a meal together but then realize they have accidentally walked in on a speed dating night, with a sign on the wall that reads "find your soul mate in 30 dates or less". Vanessa decides they should give it a go and the girls all sit down separately and are each greeted by several men. Una showcases her baby bump and Rochelle her engagement ring as ways to fend off some of the men they do not approve of.

Most of the commenters in 2015 were kind of over this song, in comparison to the way they loved it upon release. Some were saying it sounded a bit dated already or it was never really their favorite single anyway. The chorus was pegged as being much stronger than verses and Una’s middle eight got tons of love. There was also the sense that maybe more On Your Radar album tracks should’ve become singles before we got here.

Commentary

@daninternational (10) - Pop perfection - great verses, great chorus, and the Sunchyme drums <3 Why are songs talking about a number of days always great?

@Phonetics Girl (10) - Not a lot of songs out there that instantly put a stupid smile on my face. 30 Days is one of them and I forgot just how joyous music can make me feel aww. I need a moment.

@louciano (9.5) - I prefer the verses to the chorus here, but the song is overall pretty amazing. The storytelling and imagery that they can create is immaculate.

@saviodxl (9.2) - A misunderstood anthem.

@Ezz (8.5) - Adore the middle 8, feels quite wistful…

@Sally_Harper (5) - I don’t dislike this but it’s quite boring, apart from the potato-in-the-bin noise. The “sun-rise-sun-fall” dance move they do is fantastic though.

Seeing someone say the verses are better than the chorus was not on my Saturdays bingo card. Everything @Phonetics Girl says about the song kind matches me to a T and why I often search out more 'positive songs for depressed soul' as far as my music listening habits.

Our first 'Mona' song, as the shoutouts have actually been pretty light overall for this one. They only got a couple a piece.

---

The song at #27 is not from Living for the Weekend, as it gets a break. This will be the last elimination until after Christmas. Last rate this song got an 11 and a dozen 10's, but got far less than that this time around. It's also from the later part of their discography.
