What About Us was a banger when it came out & I have a lot of good memories associated with it from 2013 but my love for it has waned over the years. It has a lot of good hooks (‘oh why are we a-waiting..’ & Vanessa’s solo chorus towards the end) but it feels bloated now, it feels overly-long & is sort of a slog to get through. I always feel restless by the time it gets to the final chorus/Una’s late section. I also don’t think Frankie or Una sound particularly good with their robotic voices & the nanana’s do grate. I think this is one that will probably slip down my personal rankings over the years.

It won’t happen but I want to see All Fired Up go next. It’s 100% top 10 worthy but I’ve never quite loved it as much as the general consensus.

Funny thing is, I used to be the exact same way about All Fired Up.

Until I saw the light, so no, that's not happening.

You misspelt 'Not Giving Up.'

This will do instead.

Now lemme throw a tantrum over White Flies (On A Decomposing Carcass) still being here!

More like White Dies, now.

Hazey Says | I love when the song picks up the pace slightly and Frankie leads us into one of their best choruses. “Turning into shades of gray-ay..” especially hits the spot quite nicely. Mollie nearly kills everything with her verse. *Hides* - People talk about this song like it’s in their Top 3 and that’s just not true ddd, but it is massive nonetheless. (10)

The band said this was kind of a throwback to the debut album, which I don't necessarily hear. Co-written by Carl Falk and Rami Yacoub, the latter known for his work with Britney Spears, so you know that had Mollie stanning.

One of the instant fan favorites when the album dropped. When voters commented in 2015, you get the sense of sadness that it would forever be some buried gem in their discography, not even performed, rather than a huge single. Some people even argued it would be the best single on the album. Mollie got some love for parts, but Una’s vocals were really praised alot. The chorus was considered pop perfection, someone saying the song is like a more pop version of the dancey Get Ready, Get Set. There were some naysayers that claimed it was overrated and that eventually it became kind of annoying sounding after a while.

Commentary

@Sally_Harper (10) - OOOOOOOOOOH IT’S TIME TO TALK ABOUT TRUTH NOW. What a fucking bop. Amazing.

@Hazey's Mom (10) - Another bop, I especially like the way my son sang along to it.

@Scaper (10) - Should have been a single. Although I will never forgive the person on this forum who pointed out that it sounds like they’re singing, “I’ve been farting dark demons”. I cannot unhear it.

@louciano (10) - Second choice for my eleven, immaculate song that I could leave playing for hours upon hours and never get sick of hearing.

@Ezz (7.75) - The Guetta effect can be felt here for sure, interesting time capsule.

@daninternational (7.5) - Stole its production from somewhere else, but works as a facelsss bop.

@Phonetics Girl (3) - What I said about Promise Me applies here even more. I just cringe at this noisy overproduced mess.

What she said about Promise Me was that it exemplifies her main problem with the album, too much chasing trends instead of chasing lights. Those trends were probably highlighted by @Ezz and @daninternational. After losing all of her favorites early on the rate, see White Lies out right before the Top 10 will likely feel like a 'feather in the cap' moment for @Phonetics Girl.

The only two to get shoutouts with 2 a-piece, besides Una getting 1. I personally don't like Mollie's contributions on this one, but I give in to the fact that she's a prominent part of the song. Frankie slays though, as usual.

The way I absolutely bopped when I first heard the song! The first ever performance at the VMAs after party or something is still my favorite

This was a great performance until after the bridge where Una forgets(?) to do the choreography, and then almost sings over Rochelle’s adlib. I remember watching this for the first time way back then and thinking: “this is only the first performance! It can only get better from here!!” If I only knew how tragic performances of this song would become ddd
