I’ve always felt that Disco Love was a bit flat for what it was trying to do. It’s a bit of an album track for me.

And Notorious has all the promise of a great song, but falls (very) short in the chorus. The intro and first verse go off promising a total banger (which it never gets to) and I always think of that So You Think You Can Dance? UK performance and how they seemed like such stars in the first minute.

But other than that, a fantastic Top 10.

White Lies narrowly missing the top 10?

But seriously... What a song though!

Una fucking sells the song to heaven and back and Frankie sounds fantastic on it! It's their best album track and it's a shame it wasn't a single. The GP have no taste though, so it would have flopped on its back side either way.

Disco Love for top 5! (watch it drop 4 places to 10 now...)

but if we could get these songs in the Top 5 that would be a dream!

Sorry guys! Don't kill the messenger!

(I would've had it beat Not Giving Up)

Most Solo Time | Vanessa, then everyone else but Frankie

Hazey Says | Hmm, I figured this would be an easy 10, but I’m just not hearing it. Maybe it just lost something after many plays. Mollie’s opening though, my word, truly the best moment. Otherwise, it’s something I would just consider standard stock Sats bop, which is an easy 9 even when it’s average. (9)

Commentary

@Ezz (11) - The video is super cute, and I'm a sucker for most nostalgia tracks (see also Darren Hayes "Crush (1980 me)". Also possibly feels a bit like a return to the first album in terms of sound.

@saviodxl (10) - Now this was very cute indeed. Sweet bubblegum pop.

@Sally_Harper (10) - LOOK EVERYONE I GAVE A 10 TO A SONG FRANKIE ISN’T ON. It can be done! I just adore this song, and it’s got so many great little moments. Vanessa’s “HEY”s in the verses are gorgeous, as are the background “dings” (please help me, I can’t describe them). I love the sax riff that pops up every now and then, and the “OHHHHHHH IS IT LOVE THAT’S IN THE AIR” that opens the last chorus. The video’s fun too!

@Scaper (10) - Weirdly underrated considering it came later in their run.

@loucaino (10) - This is absolutely amazing. That instant chorus and the line "It's never winter when it's Donna Summer all year long" has to be their one best lyric. Electrobop.

@daninternational (9.5) - Put 'Disco' in the title + name drop some past singers + baby baby baby = gay catnip.

@Attis (8.5) - The attempt to evoke 80s feeling is failed, but hey at least it's not the usual 4/4.

@Phonetics Girl (5) - All the love this one gets, if only I could relate! But I was only ever underwhelmed, like damn, this thing is corny!

The first and not last tumble inside the Top 10 goes to the retro banger. The Britney line is probably Mollie's favorite moment ever. It was always kind of polarizing despite its #6 placement in 2015, so I'm not totally shocked since it collected quite a few mediocre scores this time around.

And Mollie's idol, Britney, would be proud to see her take unquestioned victory lap with 9 shoutouts.

Most Solo Time | Una

Hazey Says | DJStraightezey can never get enough of Una's ultra-seductive "I can do it with my hands behind my back…" section...for reasons. I will give a shout out to Mollie because her parts break the song up perfectly as well. Also. that "want, I want, oh oh oh" over that beat is peak dance-pop. (10+)

Commentary

@Hazey's Mom (11) - (Hazey: When I asked her to explain her choice she mentioned something about probably being called out for liking their softer songs and ballads, but wanted to show that this Mom still knew how to get down to a dance banger, well she didn't use those exact words but that's the jist of it! dd)

@saviodxl (10) - Shoulda been a single, the girls have said that many times, etc.

@daninternational (10) - It took me a while to get into it, but once it got me I was hooked til the end.

@Ezz (10) - Love the frenetic chorus!

@louciano (10) - This is an exhilarating thrill from beginning to end. Yes, it sounds like a Girls Aloud cast-off, but when has that ever been a bad thing?

@Sally_Harper (8) - I do like this, but maybe not quite as much as everyone else seems to. My favourite bit is Una’s garbled ad-lib that’s sort of buried in the background of “the more more more I want” in the second chorus.

@Scaper (8) - Una’s filthy pre-chorus makes this song. I wish the melody of the actual chorus was stronger but what a bop.

@Attis (7.5) - The absolute whiplash this song get me, right after a ballad fff.

@Phonetics Girl (5) - I can't even give a solid reason, I just don't vibe with this song, never have. I'm just gonna have to deal with silently seething while it outlasts all my faves all the way to Top 5.

Well, it didn't so I guess you should be pleased dd. I agree with @Ezz's assessment of the frenetic chorus, that's exactly why I love this song. I usually love those kinds of choruses to bits. It definitely should have been a massive single, making it one of the best non-singles in pop, along with Not That Kinda Girl (in my opinion) being the best B-Side ever. Who else has that?

I'm sorry, executive decisions have to be made. Even though it ends up at 16-to-10 in favor of Una, when those numbers both far exceed winning numbers from most song and nobody else even has 1 shoutout for the song...yeah they both get to share this.

#8 is the last song without an 11.

Sad to see my 11, Disco Love, go out at #10. It’s the exact type of song that I want from The Saturdays - a complete sugar rush. It might be Mollie’s best moment in their entire discography & Vanessa’s ad libs on the last chorus are to die for!

Get Ready, Get Set definitely should have been remixed and made into a single, perhaps one of the biggest missed opportunities of their career? I think it would have done well for them. A little bit more of a risky song for them with the overtly sexual lyrics but Una & Mollie kill this song. It’s probably went out at the right time but it’s 100% their best song to workout to.

Does this mean that no song in the Top 7 got an 11? If so, I know what #8 is already because it's my 11!
I was thinking tat but it's either a typo or every other song has more than "a" 11... cos there's no way my 11 is coming 8th!!
Ah, that's makes sense. Hazey (and yourself) are far too clever for me.

Although I still think that means my 11 could be #8.
