The Saturdays

Ready for Vanessa's flop album.

I could see her doing well actually. She has immense talent, and as much as I love Nadine, nowhere near the baggage that got into her way when she tried to promote Insatiable. Peter has done a pretty fantastic job of getting the Sats high quality songs on the cheap (Disco Love), and I don't see why that wouldn't remain the case. Nadine, while talented, released a laughably poor lead single.

Talent and song quality means nothing, unfortunately. It's about airplay, streaming, promotion, general buzz and public interest etc. As the least well known member of a girl group who hit their peak 2 years ago, I'd say the odds are going to be against her.

I'd love all/any of them to smash a solo artist but if Nadine/Nicola couldn't get a hit post-Girls Aloud then I can't see Vanessa or any of our Sats doing it.

Vanessa has the least amount of social media followers/media interest though. She's stunning and vocally the strongest but I just can't see her becoming a solo star. I think she should record material as I love her voice but I doubt it'll ever be a success.

I actually think Vanessa has a good chance but, I agree, it will depend on her management and securing radio play. She has the voice but she also has an ounce of a personality unlike the other four. Her management need to get her on big talk shows and hopefully the public will take to her as will radio.

She/her
Rochelle and Frankie clearly got the biggest solo profiles/press coverage at the moment (both more so in television than in music, but still). If they were to release something now, I feel like they would get some sort of support. However, to my eyes, they are the two members that I can see taking a huge break from music and only get back into it when "it's too late", so I guess it's not happening.

I think Una will get something out before the others. I can't see Mollie attempting a solo career just yet either, but I'm pretty sure she'll be writing more and more from now on.
