The Saturdays

They had it right with that routine when they launched with the single release. However- what a shocking and upsetting moment it was when they started using the mic stands! Changed it all after that. I think the only time they ever course corrected to doing it in that original capacity was towards the very end. The mom era slowed it down but respect to them for even showing up! What a screaming/crying/throwing up thought to juggle all that.

They really said “not giving up!

I noticed all the girls have been liking the GA reunion Instagram posts.

I hope it’s inspiring them to do something.
I genuinely believe once the GA reunion is done that The Saturdays will follow. Enough time has passed, nostalgia is high, and Rochelle and Mollie have raised their profiles since the days of the group with their tv and radio presenting. I think the others have been active as well but i’m not too familiar.

I think so too. I also think they could pull off a similar arena tour due to the raised solo profiles. They are all much better known now than they were during 2008 - 14 and that helps a lot.

I can see a reunion in the next 2 years for sure. Get Vanessa on the Masked Singer to raise her profile. They would decent features on This Morning, BBC Radio 1, Loose Women & Irish press with the connections they've made in their solo careers.

They'd also be a shoe-in for a Hoopla headliner slot.

Their styling towards the end of their run definitely lost a sense of youthfulness/coolness despite the fact they were all still young. They were showing up to perform dance bops in borderline (slightly sexy) office wear.

Most of the GP that do know of any of them now (particularly Rochelle, Frankie and Mollie through their presenting) are probably unaware they were ever in a girl group. They had nowhere near Girls Aloud's reach during their time together. A reunion would be cute but wouldn't court as much publicity as Girls Aloud's.

I dunno, I made a joke about Girls Aloud two-tone hair on the morning their reunion was on the news to my colleague who's like 36 and she said "I dunno why they bothered, the only one that can sing is that Ashley Roberts" which just...

I think The Saturdays could reunite, perform a classic hit on a TV show or two to promote the reunion and it would sell just fine. People know the songs more than they know the band and they'll know the individual members from their sustained TV profiles since they went on hiatus so I think the cross pollination of their individual profiles will do the rest of the heavy lifting.

Also, The Saturdays benefitted from the early years of streaming, which made them accessible to other markets outside the UK, unlike Girls Aloud. To put things into perspective, BRAVA MADRID (the Spanish Mighty Hoopla which kicked off this year with the likes of Sugababes, Melanie C and Mika headlining) had polls for their acts next year and they included The Saturdays but not Girls Aloud.

Looking at their Spotify streaming numbers, this is what their 3 biggest singles look like:

Higher - 64,2 million
What About Us - 60,8 million
Ego - 31,7 million

vs.

Love Machine - 52,3 million
Sound Of The Underground - 45.7 million
Jump - 42,3 million

They could definitely pull off a decent sized reunion tour. Nostalgia is everything right now.

Everyone in the UK knows The Saturdays. They might not have had Girls Aloud’s pull factor in terms of touring success during their original run, but their songs are instantly recognisable and generally quite loved.

I could definitely see a reunion tour doing better than their previous ones.
