Did this tally again.
Chasing Lights: 52,326,815 (+10,240,912)
Wordshaker: 37,710,998 (+6,713,869)
Headlines: 66,982,133 (+11,337,849)
On Your Radar: 45,600,403 (+6,367,517)
Living For The Weekend: 94,746,794 (+12,826,068)
Finest Selection new tracks: 13,631,069 (+1,325,356)
Bsides: 26,568,385 (+8,247,161)

A few interesting notes:
Just Can’t Get Enough was almost streamed as much as Ego.
No One was rightfully their lowest streamed track in the last year (just over 8,000 plays).
Last Call gained a million streams in the last year (in 2021, it only got about 60,000 so it’s weird how much it jumped).
And When Love Takes Over got almost 6 million streams in 2022. Bizarre.
Did this once again on New Years Day and was a bit surprised to see how much their streaming numbers slowed down in 2023 - their streams fell by around 50% compared to 2022. I’m guessing their playlist reach fell but the drop was fairly consistent across all their tracks.

Chasing Lights: 57,572,351 (+5,245,536)
Wordshaker: 42,546,595 (+4,835,597)
Headlines: 72,642,744 (+5,660,611)
On Your Radar: 49,096,146 (+3,495,743)
Living For The Weekend: 101,724,749 (+6,977,955)

Literally doing god's work out here

On Your Radar deserves so much more.. It makes sense Living For The Weekend is their top album since it has What About Us and their last consistent charting run of singles. I love that Chasing Lights is holding strong even though it's from 2008.

I found myself listening to the Wordshaker album this morning, and is Open Up about....their partner not letting them in the house because they're drunk? Don't think I registered these lyrics when I was younger nn.

Pretty much. The lyrics are pretty plain and I wouldn't put it past them to sing a song that's literally about that. It does read to me as if it's about a relationship and the other party is ignoring them because of negative behaviour, but that just might be the literature nerd in me reading too deep into it.

I wish I could magically merge Wordshaker and Headlines into the same named era.
Taadaa!

Long time Saturdays fan - I've been following them before their debut and still actively listen to them today. I don't come to this thread normally but after jamming out to them a few weeks ago I thought I would ask whether there is any chance/whispers/possiblities of a reunion gig/tour?

Thanks in advance!!!

Una is keen for it. Mollie seems hopeful for it to happen down the line. Frankie seems open to it.

Vanessa and Rochelle are difficult to tell. Vanessa hasn’t really said anything Saturdays related in a good while (bar loving the Ego renaissance on TikTok) and last time Rochelle was asked she said she wouldn’t like too because her daughter would be embarrassed (though it’s okay for Marvin to return to JLS for reunion shows so that might’ve changed by now).

I think this is the most recent moment where Rochelle's mentioned anything related to a reunion. And while she says nothing but fantastic things about the band all around, she says between her business and her family it's just not who she is/where she's at anymore. She's laser focused on having work that balances into her life and building her business - and honestly she is crushing it too so I can see how that is where she's at right now. It's cool to see how the band gave them all a great platform to bounce off of and helped them all individually beyond when they were active as a band. They really made something out of it and that doesn't always work that way for every pop group. Thriving through that hiatus! She also jokes that someone at the label probably thinks they still owe them a single. (Obviously fingers crossed they do!)

She really deep dives into a lot of her life here and honestly I have nothing but respect. She says one of her earliest memories as a kid was moving from a hostel to an apartment, and that makes her narrative of success she's had in S Club and The Saturdays (even now!) so much more inspirational/iconic. Go her honestly! I love what she says about holding true to being who you are as a person/what you value consistently through your lows and highs, as they ever fluctuate in life. (Una also did some podcast recently where she made a similar comment about wanting to make sure she walks through the world with kindness/that's the most important thing.) Value sharing queens. Rochelle also mentions how she almost didn't go to the first audition (sorry to the gays in that fucking alternate timeline!), how she met Una in line at the first round of auditions, exchanged myspaces, and ended up letting her stay with her after they both passed the first rounds so she didn't have to fly to Ireland and back again.

Inspirational icons in pop™

Wasn't Rochelle the most focused/business driven out of them during their heyday? Even though I really want a reunion (and the opportunity to fly there and watch them live for at least once in my life), I kind admire her for choosing her own success after thriving so much for it.

They've all expressed that they went through a lot together within their career and they seem to have such healthy boundaries/relationships with one another that it wouldn't really feel real or authentic if they did it without all of them or if one did it begrudgingly. What's the point? That's a critical component that brings magic to the band~

When it comes to how long they've been on their "hiatus" I have to remind myself - They were together for 7 years non stop. Wanting to have an identity outside of the band and pursue other passions is valid and was always something they did throughout their run already and I think they all want that for each other right now. I believe (potentially with great delusion!) that when they time is right for all of them they'll do something to celebrate the band/their success. It would be a downright shame if they didn't!

(Gonna have to pull out all the coping skills if it doesn't happen!)
