The Saturdays

Re: The Saturdays - General Discussion Thread

I actually just remembered. It wasn't a sample. It was just some people on here that were saying the verses sounded like the verses in Blur's Boys & Girls or something.

It's falling pretty fast. #27 I think.
I wish they had other gigs this week as it seems it is what helped them for the last two weeks.

Re: The Saturdays - General Discussion Thread

Is that site even reliable? It looks very tabloid-ish in a sense that they just post nonsense. Then again, I wouldn't know.

Re: The Saturdays - General Discussion Thread

I just wish Mollie would go with a darker blond. Something more light brown - blond.

Re: The Saturdays - General Discussion Thread

Did they ever release the motown version of 'why me why now' as an mp3 download?? I loved the version they performed in tour as oppose to the album version.

The demo version is closer to the live version, if you're looking for a different version.

^^ Frankie came back off holiday again, the day before their weekend of festival gigs. That wasn't even a week ago!

Anyway, new track alert, it's called 'Stupid' and it's written by Tim Powel (Xenomania) and Britt Burton ('Puppet') - http://www.umusicpub.com/spotlight.aspx?id=5779

New album could look something like this:
Notorious, All Fired Up, Turn Myself In, Lets Get It Locked (feat, Travie McCoy), White Lies, Stupid, I Like The Way You Move (un-sure about this one though)
I'm actually more intrigued by the 2 songs for The Wanted listed on there.
The label is Def Jam so i'm guessing it's for an EP or the US version of their debut.
*completely off topic I know*

I don't know why but I feel like Stupid might be something either really juvenile or ~srs beans~ like that bad Rihanna song (Stupid in love)

I also hope that story about Mollie is false or she was just kidding...

Re: The Saturdays - General Discussion Thread

Also, I came across this review of their gig at Oxegen and the person referred to Up as Girls Aloud-lite. (referred to it as their first single too, ha)
How insulting. (not trying to offend GA here but i've never heard anything like Up from them)
Has this ever been said before? I'm just curious as this really isn't important.

Re: The Saturdays - General Discussion Thread

Mollie's hair is amazing and enhances her goofy popstar persona. It, along with her bright, wide smile, makes her stand out, creating a backdrop to her whispery vocals. The token blonde is very important (just ask Emma Bunton, Sarah Harding or Phoebe Halliwell season 3).

Mollie is also one of the few people who actually rock the colour yellow (and to me, yellow is always the default Mollie colour). If she dyed her hair to a darker shade of blonde, I'm not sure if it would work - and which Saturday would be there to wear yellow if Mollie wasn't? Kimberley.

RadarX, I kind of agree about Up being Girls Aloud-lite (if indeed the word we are looking for is 'lite' instead of 'like'). It's an electronic, danceable pop song that is more middle-of-the-road in production and structure than Girls Aloud's everything-including-the-kitchen-sink songs.

I for one think Mollie would look great with dark brown/black hair. It'd be a nice change to not have a blonde in the group.

They didn't release a studio version but a live version from the iTunes festival is available to download.
