They're also just less easy to identify as Saturdays singles. But then, most music in 2011 was pretty homogenized. No denying "My Heart Takes Over" had The Saturdays sound, but it felt awkward and didn't do particularly well for them.
Personally, I love "All Fired Up", but I love virtually all of Xenomania's output, an I don't think the Sats necessarily 'do Xenomania' best. They're not quirky, or a club act. I still think "Higher" was their peak of identity. The video captured their charms nicely and stands out over their others.

I like to think Headlines was them on top form again. It felt like the proper bridge between Chasing Lights & Wordshaker that came too late (so long as Work's video never happened).
I just really want these girls to get something right and keep it going, not falling flat on their arses again.

To be honest, I just think Headlines charted the highest because it had zero competition, sales were dire, 24/7 plus the amount of attention they got when 'Missing You' was released.
You can be a singles artist and still sell albums

You shouldn't be - as great as it was and as nice as it would be to have more new music, Headlines was essentially an exercise in damage limitation and they can't keep repeating that indefinitely. They need to find a way to sell full-length albums or their future looks pretty short-lived (and I say this as a fan). I'm not saying they need platinum sales or anything - there's nothing wrong with being primarily a singles act - but they need to achieve at least respectable sales in order to make any money. That's why I'm hoping this new single will be for a rerelease and that they'll get the campaign right this time.

I really don't see what's wrong with another Headlines... It gives them enough singles to have a very strong greatest hits, then go on a greatest hits tour and either go out on a high or be the most successful they've ever been.
Considering some people like to think they're on the verge of being dropped, we should all be pleased that the label still want them recording.

They only released Headlines because their full-length album didn't sell. If they do another 'mini album' it will be for the same reason. If they can't sell proper albums they won't be allowed to make another one, so where does that leave them? A Greatest Hits and that's it.

Still shooting the video, won't be done until around midnight apparently! Excited to see how it turns out. I really hope there's lots going on in the video with a bit of life and colour to it, want it to be more visually exciting and arresting rather than the usual basic affairs they do.
