The Scream Franchise

I just rewatched Scream 3 for the anniversary and as always I enjoyed it. Something new I noticed was how progressively twisted Emily Mortimer’s performance became as they started to tease the killer reveal. I also loved when Kincaid showed up. Patrick Dempsey did a great job of making us suspicious of him in that scene. I do wish Angelina had been made the second killer because there were things that Roman shouldn’t have been able to do with the time table. I understand why they went with Roman solo though, to focus in on the personal aspect of the reveal.

Of course the biggest downfall to this film is the lack of gore, but I do think they made up for it with clever set pieces and elaborate, suspenseful sequences. But something like Sarah Darling’s death could’ve been an absolute classic if they could’ve gone a step further and add some gore to that scene. The blood across her face was just awful and the overall sequence deserved better.

I'm away the weekend it comes out. Not impressed.

There would have been something beautifully twisted about Angelina being a killer alongside Roman seeing as she was playing Sidney in the Stab movies. Adds an extra layer to Roman's motives I think.

Pretty sure she was going to be the second killer too at one point and her death was a fake out. She was also going to be a former classmate of Sid?

I got tickets for the "fan event" in 3D despite it being in 3D, which I hate. I just don't want to miss whatever this "event" is – do we know any details? I've been avoiding the spoiler thread for a few weeks.

Based on the runtime, it’s only ten minutes longer than the actual film, so probably just behind the scenes stuff and intros from the cast before the film plays like Scream 5’s Fan Event.

I noticed that Gale’s camp delivery of “It’s a Shrine” is different in this new trailer spot than the official. Perhaps she says it more than once, or it’s a different take they’ve used.

So apparently I had to go on Fandago for the complete list of showings. Thankful now I can see it on a non 3D premium screen. Wish they had it on the Thurs. but better then nothing. I swear if I'm spoiled like I was for Scream 2 and 4 I'll cut a bitch.
