Scream has no bad entries but 4 will never ever be worse than 3 no matter how "camp" and ironic the stanning for the latter gets. The tone is way too jovial and ~silly~ and Gale / Dewey do their best to carry it but it doesn't quite work. Still a 8/10, at least.
I mean, you do you, but for all its faults at least Scream 3
feels like a Scream film. A bombastic, operatic, hysterical trilogy ender that has a clear identity, and a definitive end. 4 in comparison feels listless and lifeless, only existing to bring characters back that it’s never quite sure what to do with.
The OG 3 feel thinly drawn, and it’s never as funny or self aware as it is clearly desperate to be.
Also Gale’s meta line in 4 always sticks out like a sore thumb to me, having written books about the killings there’s
zero way she wouldn’t have been aware of the concept.
Not all stanning of 3 is ironic.
