The Scream Franchise

Apparently Scream 7 will have a time jump to justify Sid's daughters ages and this is intended to be a start of a new trilogy.

I guess the time jump is just a couple of years. Her daughters won‘t be Teenagers I guess.
That makes it even less sensible then. What difference would her having toddlers/babies and having 8-9 year olds? They still won't be killing them or putting them in any danger.

Well at least Sidney can leave them or leave with a babysitter if they aren‘t babies but I agree, they won‘t attack them.

She'd be able to leave babies with a babysitter too though. A time jump that still leaves them as children just doesn't make any sense. But given one of their ages in Scream 5, they'd need a bloody 16 year jump.

Surely the kids are just small side characters and the action will be focussed away from them. If they're not in jeopardy, there's no point.

Why doesn't everything have to be a start of a new trilogy. Let's just make one standalone movie, please. Make it good if you can. Stop trying to kickstart something in order to make a bloody trilogy.
I feel like whether they say it’s a trilogy or not, that’s where everybody’s mind goes. In 6 Mindy said we’re in franchise territory, not a trilogy, but still everybody kept talking about 7 being the end of a trilogy.

The reality is that as long as these films are making money and people want them, they’ll keep making them. I wish everyone would just forget the term trilogy when it comes to Scream. We’re so far beyond that.
