The Seventh PJ Grammys: Winners Announced!

Discussion in 'Charts, rates etc' started by Sail On, Jan 8, 2022.

  1. As an ABBA fan, this is Hilarious.

  2. I've decided I hate it here after all. Another bloody Aly & AJ win over Caroline (and the rest)? Good grief.

  3. Videoclub - SMS being the French representative getting the most votes so far is very unexpected too! I celebrate it!

  4. I almost voted Bunny Is A Rider but decided against it because it barely made it through the nomination process so I assumed it wouldn't have a chance.

  5. Please welcome to the thread, Rina Sawayama!

Rina: Damn, PJ Grammys! I can’t believe it - this year marks the first ceremony in like four years that I wasn’t in contention for Best New Artist. And yet, it feels like just yesterday when I took home the prize. Anyway, this year, the Academy has highlighted newcomers who bring fresh perspectives, voices, and styles. They are…

    Baby Queen

    Celeste

    Griff

    Magdalena Bay

    Olivia Rodrigo

    Pink Pantheress

    Self Esteem

    Videoclub

  6. Please welcome to the thread, Jessie Ware!

Jessie: Hiya PJ Grammys! Putting together an album is a delicate and exhilarating process - I say this as I am finishing my upcoming body of work (*gays squeal in excitement from the audience*) - and this year’s selection of nominees for Album of the Year truly just get it. Whether it was a sonic journey into SoCal dreampop, ruminations on female Black romance, or defiant self-expressions of queer identity, this year’s group proved that in the age of playlists, albums are still an art form. Here are the nominees:

Aly & AJ - a touch of the beat gets you up on your feet gets you out and then into the sun

    Angele - Nonante Cinq

Billie Eilish - Happier Than Ever

Halsey - If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power

    Jazmine Sullivan - Heaux Tales

    Laura Mvula - Pink Noise

    Lil Nas X - MONTERO

    Magdalena Bay - Mercurial World

    Self Esteem - Prioritise Pleasure

    Wolf Alice - Blue Weekend

    And the winner is:
Aly & AJ - a touch of the beat gets you up on your feet gets you out and then into the sun

  8. Well the results were not ideal but at least we got the nominations right! Thank you @Sail On and @BubblegumBoy for hosting this, it was fun!

  9. Thanks for a job beautifully done @Sail On and @BubblegumBoy !! So glad to have been given the chance to share more French faves at large, and though they didn't win - I am so glad to see they were appreciated with more than just myself voting for them <3

  10. Aly & AJ are much more popular than I thought!

I'm pleasantly surprised by how many votes Allison Ponthier got.

I regret not voting for Magdalena Bay for Best New Artist now - zero votes is shameful!

  11. Happier than ever with the results! though poor my vote for Baby Queen getting lost in the shuffle dd
Thank you @Sail On & @BubblegumBoy for such fun time!

  12. So... my votes had zero effect when it comes to all winners ddd

Thank you for organizing this, @Sail On and @BubblegumBoy!

  13. Perhaps my vote ended up being proceeded to the actual Grammys. Either way, letscelebratethat.gif
