The Sims

A new leak confirms that EA is re-releasing the Sims 1 and 2 with all of their expansion/stuff packs. Nothing about any fixes (so far), and it's currently only confirmed to be available for Windows 10 and 11. Nothing about a Mac port. They will be released January 31st, 2025 at 8AM PT/5PM CET/4PM BT.
I fear there's not going to be a Mac port due to Aspyr originally porting all of The Sims 1 and most of The Sims 2.

I did enjoy The Sims 2, but little things like how only the played lot would age (so you'd make friends as a teenager and they'd still be a teenager whilst you're a granny nn) and moving worlds with no memory of your previous friends or family tree really irked me. I want a version of Sims 2 with some of the little details Sims 4 added because it was a more interesting game.

The ESRB ratings came out and they confirmed that it’s a re-release with all the packs, so I’m not sure why they worded is so strangely on the site.

It's happened! Although I'm struggling to actually find it anywhere

EDIT: £35 for both as a bundle, that's not bad to be honest. Looks like the IKEA pack didn't make it but the H&M one did!

AUD $60 for a bundle on Steam. I’m… starting to think they actually haven’t done anything to these besides making them playable on Windows 11. Like, not even resolution upgrade for The Sims 1.

Sims 1 engine is upscaled and looks great but the UI is still low quality. I do wish they had cleaned up the text resolution as well but other than that, it works great!

They really missed a trick as well by not adding official mod support. That would have taken it to a whole other level.

Not them getting rid of the best stuff pack from Sims 2 because they don’t want to pay IKEA dd. My Ultimate Collection on the EA app stays unbothered I guess.

Some people are reporting that some of the music is missing too.
