The Traitors (BBC1)

Pleased at that ending, mainly for Aaron. Wilf took it one step too far making it obvious he was going to throw Kieran under the bus, got played at his own game. Maybe it was the spirit of the Welsh dragon.
Such a good series, especially when so many of these reality tv game shows feel very stale now.

Honestly kind of unsatisfied? No massive Will fan, but it did feel like Kieran almost broke the rules of the game. His ‘parting gift’ comment essentially alluded to Will being a traitor, blowing up what was a pretty perfectly orchestrated game.

That being said, this has been fantastic. Roll on season 2!

What an absolutely incredible series of reality TV. Admittedly I went into this finale with the expectation of either Wilf, Kieran or both winning, never did I think that (a) Kieran had it in him to deliver such a stunning exit or that (b) Hannah and Aaron would catch on to Wilf. Throw in Claudia, the utter campness of the flame reveals and WHAT an amazing finale.

You can immediately file this next to the likes of Big Brother's series 5-7 and The X Factor 2008-2010 as one of the best pieces of reality TV we've ever witnessed.

Loved the whole series - but what option did Wilf/Kieran have available to win as a pair?

Eliminating other faithfuls until they were the only two left?

Seems like an impossible task?

It never matter how many faithfuls were left, only traitors. As long as the faithfuls believed the traitors were faithfuls. The game is more in their favour really i think.

All they needed was to convince 2 others to turn on one person (Aaron was the easiest victim) then stop the game and they win.

They could win if they were both still there and the others voted to end the game, They would split the money 50/50

Yes but if they did this, and Aaron was revealed as a Faithful, no one was going to end the game. A murder happened two nights ago with no Traitor uncovered since then, so the surviving Faithfuls would’ve had to keep voting until a Traitor turned on Traitor.

The only way they could’ve avoided that outcome would be if the banished contestant wasn’t allowed to reveal their role as they depart.

But they knew there was a third traitor - at least - based on them only uncovering two.

If they’d gone for Aaron, he’d have revealed himself as a faithful, and they’d have banished again?

It feels a TWINGE unfair on Will to be thrown under the bus so pointedly when he HAD manufactured such a cushty position for himself. But equally, it was as a direct result of his own gameplay, which felt far too singularly focused the whole time. Getting other traitors before they can get you was all well and good, but it meant Keiran was primed and prepped for when it happened to her. Karma, really. A redemption arc for Miss K, and a nice cautionary tale to any future traitors.

Speaking of cautionary tales, how hilarious that literally every proper traitor's banishment was as a direct result of another traitor's influence. Talk about faithfuls falling upwards.

What a show.

I agree Kieran cheated a bit, but think Wilf's biggest fuck up in the last episode is agreeing straight off the batt to go for Kieran when he could have easily just convinced them all to go for Meryl or Aaron, got them out and then shared with Kieran. Turning on him so easily after forcing him to be a traitor when he was enjoying being a faithful so much was ALWAYS going to backfire and he should have known that.

And I'll also say that if he'd not turned on Amanda I think they'd both have gotten to the final 4 and won, too.

He kind of played himself.
