The US #1s of the 2000s Rate (Part 2: 2005-2009 - Your #1 Is...)

@Ironheade slipped me some tea regarding my 11 and let's just say...

@Ironheade slipped me some tea and let's just say I woke up the next morning in an ice bath missing a kidney.

Insert creepface meme here.

Anyway. I'm off to Download Festival tomorrow. See you on Monday, and I expect an inbox brimming over with results when I get back. In the meantime, how's about another SONG WE ALMOST HAD TO RATE?

KANYE WEST - HEARTLESS

Kanye's well-represented here with two entries, so how's about we show him a smidgen more love with the second single from that there depressed Autotune-singing album? "Heartless" had the second-highest debut of any Kanye song, at #4 in November 2008, though it went in and out of the top 10 for two months before finally peaking at #2 behind "Crack A Bottle" in February 2009. After the #3 peak for "Love Lockdown", this made 808s and Heartbreak Kanye's only album to produce two top 5 hits. "Heartless" would go on to peak at #4 on the R&B and Pop 100 charts, #1 on the rap charts, and become Kanye's second song to sell 4 million downloads in the US, after "Stronger". Somehow, the cover version from that guy from season 8 of American Idol who wasn't Adam Lambert also reached #16 after he performed it on the show. Worldwide, its chart positions were a bit spotty: it barely made the top 10 in Canada and the UK, though it did get a #6 in New Zealand, and only made #40 in Australia. Oh well. At least Kanye managed a #2 in Turkey.

Would've been my 11, no question.

I've made it through the first 25 songs. Thy will be done @Ironheade, don't worry!

I've actually scored a few rap songs 7+ and I've been careful not to troll. I believe I've only given out one 0 (but a few 1s and 2s).

My 11 is between Poker Face, Say It Right, and Big Girls Don't Cry...which will probably take me until the last minute to choose.

My commentary is an absolute mess, but what's new? Should provide some entertainment every so often.

I'm trying to wrap this up today, but after that potential eulogy I just wrote for Poker Face I'm exhausted. Still powering through though.
