The Veronicas Discography Rate - COMPLETE!

Yesssssss. My only 0 gone. Well done, my pretties. And my next-lowest score was Mother Mother, so not that bad.

My three 3's are Heavily Broken, Mouth Shut, and Spirits and Sin, so they can leave next thanks xoxo.

I quite liked You and Me when they performed it live so I think that's what bumped my score up to a 7.

Sanctified is all build and very little pay off. It feels like it's going somewhere and it just keeps dragging along, the ending isn't nearly big enough to make up for it. It did go off live though.

Spirits and Sin

5.56

Highest score: 8x2 (@phily693 , @Robsolete )

Lowest Score: 3x2 (@VivaForever , @Angeleyes)

My Score:7

Spirits and Sin was quite an enjoyable track for me. It had a great rock feel towards it and the lyrics were decent as well. All in all it was an enjoyable song from Life on Mars.

@phily693 says” This was a nice little discovery, it’s not the best thing ever but it goes hard.”

@GhettoPrincess says: I like the chorus, some of the song is a bit of a mess though.”

@Sprockrooster isn’t a fan of the song as he says: “No. Let's move on from this girls. “

@Angeleyes says: “Not a fan.” after giving the song one of the lowest scores

@unnameable isn’t a fan of the song either: “I'm glad they ditched this from their sound.”

Secret

5.94

Highest Score: 10x1 (@Sprockrooster )

Lowest Score: 0x1 (Me)

I’m sorry but this song is awful. The lyrics just don’t sit well with me at all, the “I never looked at you that way because I always thought you were gay” lyric is problematic. To me it feels like they’re attacking the poor guy just because he might be a bit effeminate.

Anyway, let’s see what the rest of you thought about it

@Angeleyes says: “I thought this was really funny/kind of clever when I was 14, but now it just seems kind of awkward.”

@unnameable says: “I love and hate this song, because it's a really well-written song but also it reminds of being a teenager and being “that guy””

@GhettoPrincess says: This song is weird. I don’t know how I feel about it…. it’s a mixed reaction of laughing and actually semi-enjoying it too. Help me” sorry sis no helping you here

@VivaForever says: As I was half-listening to this album for the first time while playing a game or something, I just caught the line "'cause I always thought you were gay," which obviously made me pay attention. Men who seem nice but turn out to be douchebags... tale as old as time. The specific aspect of him seeming gay but actually being straight was a bit of a kii for me as well.”

@Sprockrooster says: Absolutely shook at that style in the verses. Making this from a solid 9 to an 11-contender. Toby Gad definitely made a master piece, but surpassed it with 'Untouched'. “

I don't take it this way at all, not in light of these lines:
"You're a little obsessed with me, and I'm a little bit scared of you, the way you look and stare at me"
"You told me lies, you made me believe it would be fine / If there was nothing to see I'd be undressing in front of you"

To me, it's about a girl whose male "friend" takes advantage of his effeminate aspects to win her confidence when actually he's a womanizing creeper. It's kind of a takedown of men thinking they deserve women's affection because they're nice to them. It's not Ur So Gay.

No problems with Spirits and Sin going. I rated it above average but I can't think how it actually goes.

I definitely didn't give Secret a 10 though @Aidan . Just checked my scores and it was a 7 from me. I like it in a bratty Avril-esque track kind of way but it's not strong enough for a top score.

Army of One

6.08

Highest Scores: 10x1 (@unnameable )

Lowest Score: 2x1 (@phily693 )

My Score:6

I’m neither shocked nor surprised that Army of One is our next elimination. It’s a middling track which has both good and bad bits to it but neither are bad or good enough to make it go higher or lower than a 6 for me. The chorus is average at best along with the production.

@Untouchable Ace has a problem with snare claps in the song: “I don't think the claps work, maybe if they were real. But it's a good song”

I feel bad for @Sprockrooster because all the elimations so far have had high scores from him. He also says that Army of One is “amazing”

@Angeleyes says” Pretty good, not much to say about it.”

And finally @unnameable rounds off with some lovely things to say” when a nice person on PJ told me where to get the leaks on tumblr, I was overjoyed because this song was amazing.”
