oh my God

Yes all right but I didn't even give that one a 0. (Think I gave it a 2.) Where is Me and Bobby and Bobby's Brother???
Mess at this ending with an extra "Benny" instead of a final "Björn." I guess it's good to know the record company gave about as many fucks about it as we do. Also, it's rather bizarre seeing a clean-shaven Benny, is it not? He's kind of adorable.

Theres a few that I rated lower than "She's My Kind Of Girl", but it makes sense being second to go. Nothing about it is "ABBA" in any way shape or form.
That was my trouble with Ring Ring. It just bore no resemblance to anything they would become, from the songwriting to vocals and production. You could see the seeds of something great on a few songs on Waterloo but Ring Ring is much more like a 60s folk album. Not exactly Popjustice friendly!

I recall a Benny interview where he says the same stuff. I remember him saying Waterloo was crap but it had a couple of good songs, and that ABBA had some songs he couldn't stand. He considers "Arrival" to be their... well, Arrival.

Björn mentions in the Winner Takes It All doco that they were trying too hard to be a rock and roll band through the first three albums before they finally decided to just make the music they liked - pop. He specifically pointed to So Long as an instance of it, which is interesting as it's probably the high point of their rock sound!
