Spent a big chunk of my weekend preparing a job application. It's a job in itself. This is why I've stayed in the same job for so long.
Just got the rejection email, so that was a big waste of time...

Hmm... If you are using it to apply actively, I would go for a bit more professional. It's better for a first impression to be more than less.I'm wondering if anyone can help - it would be greatly appreciated!
So I've just set up LinkedIn for the first time and I'm wondering... is a casual selfie of me in front of the mirror acceptable or is it considered a bit unprofessional? I've just used the same one that I have on all my socials. Or should I take one where I'm wearing business attire? Does it really matter?

A selfie for a mirror is meh... Get a friend to take a headshot and wear something nice. That is what I would advise.
A tale old as time.I really want to know why I have a comprehensive CV outlining every single one of my positions attached as per the request of the company I'm applying for only for them make me fill out the exact same information on their application forms
Sometimes I just want to write "READ MY CV HUN"

and?Been preparing for the past 2 months for an internal secondment that I really want. I had to do a presentation for the first round of interviews which I did really well with, then the second stage was a chat with the director on how I would handle certain situations in the job. He was difficult to read so I’m not sure how it went.
I find out tomorrow and the anxiety I have oh my lord
and?
Nothing. He did say “Tuesday or Wednesday” in all fairness. No news is good news or whatever. Here’s to another sleepless night!
Good luck! I'm also waiting for some news regarding a position I've gone for, the wait is always hell I just want to KNOW

This is something I'm very interested in. The teachers subreddit is insane. Sure the shit floats to the top on the Internet but... the sheer volume of reports of age-inappropriate conduct and inability to learn, combined with a general policy of "just graduate the kids no matter what", in the US anyway... nervous giggle.I had to give out nine detentions during lunch today because people just can’t act like moderately decent humans. I know teenagers are awful but it’s been something else lately, good lord.
I went to school in the US and work in a school in the UK and yeah there’s definitely “just get them out the door” vibes in both sides, though in the UK it’s a lot more in regards to telling people how to answer exact phrasing due to the nationalised exams (as opposed to actually seeing if pupils understand what’s being taught). Frankly education is a mess in a lot of places. I know it’s an objectively shit career path that I took a 50%+ pay cut to go into, but I actually genuinely care about the kids I work with so I actually enjoy going to work now, unlike when I worked an office job. This is something I'm very interested in.
