Oh God no, I couldn't make the commitment of sitting through a show of Jay James & Lauren killing ears, Ben Haenow thinking walking back and forth is good stage presence and the Stereo Kicks radiating arrogance just for the sake of Fleur and OTY. I've just watched some of their videos is all. They look seriously good. The I Wanna Be Like You dance breakdown looks epic.

Apparently after singing one song Lauren said she was out of breath. Stands her in good stead for her own full show.

I had similar thoughts - I quite literally couldn't have sat through Jay "bloody" James, Lauren, Ben or Stevi Ritchie just to see my beloved OTY sing three songs. I found the tour merchandise online, by the way, and they managed to pick the one photo of them I don't like for a photo card thingy. Everything else was just group posters, group mugs, group keyrings etc of all the finalists so I'm not missing much.

I pity the poor people of Manchester who had to suffer some Paul Akister thrown in there as well…

There are very very very few people I would sit through a Jay James performance to see – and much as I love Fleur and OTY, I think I can wait to see them on their own at some point.

Speaking of which, is anyone going along to OTY's Under the Bridge show?

Also, idratherjack – OTY definitely had a range of merch they were selling online. I can't find it now, so I wonder if it's down during the tour, but i'm sure it'll be back afterwards.

He was getting quite stale. It's definitely time for a new host, Konnie would be the dream but I'm quietly hoping for Caroline Flack to make her big return, seeing as she's got more popular after her Strictly win...

I can't say I'm gutted he's going, he's definitely gotten pretty stale.

I hope this means they totally shake up the judging panel too, I'd be happy for them to bring in 3 new people with Simon.

I'm not sad to see him quit, but it does surprise me. I thought he'd just be wheeled out every year for a lot longer, even if I feel his heart isn't completely in it for a few years now. It will be interesting to see who replaces him and how that affects the show overall.

It most likely wasn't his decision. He was just saying a few months ago that he wanted to return. When Caroline left The Xtra Factor, they said it was her decision, but she admitted later that they dropped her. The Sun is claiming Dermot was dropped, too.

And you can't blame them for dropping him. He quite possibly showed even less interest in the last series than the viewing public and he hosts the damn thing. There's doing something on autopilot, and then there's barely bothering.

I'd be happy with a Simon-less panel. He too is pretty stale with every year the same routine including his time on X Factor US.

But if we're sticking with the format of white pretty presenter I'd imagine we'll be getting somebody like Will Best? Or heaven forbid Simon goes to Youtube to find the biggest vlogger willing to sell out. . .

So with all the drama around Zayn leaving 1D how perfect would it be for Simon to announce him as Louis Walsh's replacement this year? He could become the people's prince Cheryl style before releasing his first solo single. . . Never going to happen obviously but it would be amazing.

I can't think of any current male presenters who'd really fit the bill for the main slot. I think Flack would do an excellent job of it - she manages to find the right balance between serious and light-hearted. But they really need someone who'd be popular with mums and grans.

Dermot quite clearly hasn't given a single fuck for a couple of series now.

Possibilities are endless. Or not, given Simon just moves the same people round his various shows.
