This Morning

She/Her
His agent and itv wouldn't drop him like a stone for just having an affair with someone over the age of consent.
It seems Wooton and the like new the story regarding the young runner and went to itv with it Nov 2019. Im assuming thats why Schofield was forced to publicly come out in early to 2020 in a deal with papers to stop the other story coming out.
I didn't feel his statement was completely truthful and feel there is still more to come. You can bet This Mornings news segment will keep ignoring this story to protect itv, the program and its presenters.
Exactly. There has to be a lot more to this. His career is done with now and it won't just be because of an affair.

Does he really expect people to still believe he didn't groom a teenage boy when his brother was just jailed for doing the exact same thing? Like what are the chances of that happening... this whole public charade needs to end now and it must be dealt with by the authorities. Jail to everyone who helped cover it up including Willougby if she knew.

It's complex to ultimately tar someone as a pedophile because their sibling is.

Not to say there aren't layers to this...

Is the death knell here because he knew the lad before he was of age, and thus substantiates suspicions that he groomed him? And the adultery just makes it worse?

See stuff like this really bothers me. Wooton is one of the worlds biggest cunts and you just know he would have been frothing at the mouth when he got this story.

Dan was more than happy to 'salute' Phil months later leaving ITV because he got the exclusive coming out story in exchange for not running the victim's story. He is only interested in engagement, clicks and fame.

I think what bothers me. Is the wording around them not being in a relationship until he was of age.

Like did they wait until his 16th birthday to make it a relationship?

Considering Philip was essentially in a position of authority over this runner it adds an extra layer to this.

“Unwise but not illegal”

I-
Yeah…. I’ve read and seen photos of them allegedly meeting when he was 10 (but waited until it was legal. Very “unwise” isn’t it.)

There is more to this, it’s one thing for TM / ITV to drop him because they like their TM presenters to seem squeaky clean but his agent etc. people have affairs and as horrible as it is, it’s normal life and people move on. Without delving into this, just going off what he and ITV has said this seems very harsh for a “legal” affair.

Wow I can’t believe this has finally come out. It’s been such a tiktok “conspiracy” for years and for it finally all to be confirmed feels a tad surreal.

I have seen a video, I think a YouTube prankster was filming him having dinner with Matthew, presumably not knowing who he was, and I’m sure I read that the date of filming put him at 15.

There’s still so much more to this yet to be revealed.

There's always a way back for disgraced TV personalities: let the cancellation mill run its course, write a tell-all biography, promote it by way of some tell-all interviews, do charity work related to trauma brought up in the biography and/or reality TV, start accumulating gigs again.

Channel 5 hastily cobbling together The Rise & Fall of Phillip Schofield to get it on air while the corpse of his career is still warm:

It’s less than three years since his last autobio. He could fill in some gaps, I guess.

This scandal is shocking for many reasons, but I don't get why people are blaming Holly? I saw a lot of that on twitter today and even if she knew, what could she do about that? Looking back to the #metoo era, there were lots of situations where people knew things, but I wouldn't put it on her back. If anything, that would fall on the decision makers and execs and producers at ITV.

Now as for Philip...this is insane when you think of his age. I'm assuming this boy was 16-18 during the actual relationship, but what would someone in their 60s even want with someone that young? To me, dating younger in your 60s would be like late 30s-40s. I feel like the full story is probably worse than he's admitted to and more will probably come out.

I hate that this will now give bigots even more hatred to use against the queer community. I’ve never been a fan of him, but it was nice to see a gay man being welcomed and loved by the gp when he came out.

I feel like there’s a lot more to come out of this now the injunctions are expiring.
