Alison and Dermot were always Friday's main presenters, replacing Eamon and Ruth back when.

This probably feels like a bit of kick in the teeth for the likes of Josie and Craig who were brilliant and seemed to be getting a few days a week regularly at one point - guess it's back to flogging holidays and knocking on peoples doors for most of them.

It was reported the other day that Josie was stepping back from the 'race' due to all the drama surrounding the role, but that might have just been damage control.

I would have thrown all the money at Rylan and Emma. They were perfect.

It's a shame because I think a large rota of familiar, likeable presenters works so much better than the same two faces every day. It's a similar format to Loose Women where you know you're not going to get the same mix every time you tune in which stops it becoming stale (which is ultimately what happened to This Morning even before all the drama kicked off).

Yes they should have announced the below 10 presenters that will host on different days and rotas. And they can also intertwine with each pairing if needed.

Rochelle and Marvin
Rylan and Emma

I think from an advertising perspective it's easier to sell the show with a solid 'golden couple/king and queen of daytime' at the helm.

I've seen fair comments that the job is a big undertaking (more so directed at the reasons Alison and Dermot didn't got full time as they have other jobs) but the likes of Josie you would think would have ate ITVs are off for a permenent position. I guess they're all relegated back to holiday hosts - which is kind of unfair on the ones who are parents who cover for the main ones to take holidays..with their kids.

Yeah Josie's already been given a regular hosting spot on Dancing On Ice so I'll imagine she'll be popping up everywhere.

It's no shame to lose out to Cat Deeley, and it's a coup for ITV to lure her away from US TV (although I think the Nigel Lythgoe allegations may have been a factor as he was her boss on So You Think You Can Dance).
