Let's wait to see what my 'Aerial' scores do, if that's an album you rate highly.
Hopefully they ain't doing shit because everyone else rated them so highly.
I'm fairly happy with 'Lyra' leaving now, but I desperately, desperately want a full HQ version of 'Out of the Storm'; Kate's vocals sound incredible in the clip we have.
My average for Aeriel was 9.2 so I'm that does enough to neutralise the low scores for the time being.
An 11 leaves tomorrow. Ha!
Probably mine, going by the lack of taste shown with recent eliminations.
That's tomorrow, today's two exits are both from the year 1980...
Warm And Soothing 6.94
Highest Score: 10 x 1 @Music Is Life
Lowest Score: 3 x 1 @1991
@lob0to - 9 ...'December Will Be Magic Again' with the most perfect B-side it could have.
@djmakemewet - 9 Another classic piano/vocal piece. My favourite part is probably the vocals leading into the chorus and the line “I'm afraid by the way we grow old” feels devastating. I also like how the verse about the Alps holiday fits thematically with the wintery vibes of its A-side.
@ohnoitisnathan - 8.5 Rather pleasant and soothing.
@Seventeen Days - 7.5 I actually quite like this a little better than its A-side. It’s a holiday track without being a straightforward holiday track, which just tends to work better for me.
@Jóga - 7 A little pretty tune.
@DominoDancing - 6.5 Bores me a bit, saved by a few nice lines in the lyrics.
@sfmartin - 5 Does what it says on the tin.
Just want to point out - I know it's the B side to December Will Be Magic Again and not Babooshka, I didn't write that!
Another one of her gorgeous piano tracks out too early in my opinion.
Under The Ivy is still in though
Me watching all these b-sides burn out one after the other.
I'd almost had forgotten about Lyra to be honest...
Bugger me, that serves me right having that playing while typing.
No worries, cheers for fixing it. You're doing a grand job with the rate and shit can happen to us all at any time.
Second one from 1980 and breaking the top 100...
Highest Score: 10 x 2 @Ana Raquel, @JamesJupiter
Lowest Score: 3 x 2 @Trouble in Paradise, @abael
@Music Is Life - 9.5 LOVE THIS. It's such a fun rock song, and it makes me smile and bop.
@Jóga - 8 This reminds me of the 'Heartbrake' song from Lionheart. This one is good though.
@DominoDancing - 7 I always like a screeching violin. Too bad the song itself is a bit of an unconvincing rocker.
@ohnoitisnathan - 7 If Kate recorded a crazy rock song for The Muppet Show, it would sound something like this.
@Seventeen Days - 7 The straight rock style of this one, with blazing guitars and all, somehow feels a bit off for Kate? I dunno, but it’s still pretty good.
@djmakemewet - 6.5 The most straightforward track on the album, to be point that I'm struggling to find much to say about it. The vocals are unmistakably Kate though and I love the final note leading straight into 'The Infant Kiss'.
@OspreyQueen - 6.5 It’s catchy but that’s about it.
@sfmartin - 6 Manic and mad but a bop.
@lob0to - 6 I know it's got some fans but I wouldn't call myself one.
@nametag - 6 Demented and whimsical in a very Kate way but sounds like a bit of a leftover from previous albums.
Bye! For a Kate Bush track, it's nothing special, let's be honest here.
That lasted too long! Good riddance!!
Oh no, "Violin" is a megabop. Would've given it a 9 at least.
