I chose these threads based on page count plus a sense of their popularity in Charts & Rates. Charts & Rates has both monthly charts and song contests that spotlight new music.

I've only reviewed threads with a last reply date in August 2020, so the list should keep growing. And I am always open to suggestions for threads to move.

If a thread owner finds they are getting less engagement in P&J than here, I can move the thread back on their request.

I would suggest moving (or at least reviewing)

Shygirl (hehe)
Yungblud
Finneas
Ashnikko
Channel Tres
Rico Nasty
That Kid

These are all artists who have at least a full length project out (or coming out) and have been receiving decent buzz online. If Slayyyter is in the main forum, there's no reason That Kid, for example, shouldn't be as well, etc.

I'd also suggest looking into pinning this subform inside Pop & Justice so it's more readily available to users? I'm not sure if it's possible with this forum software, but I think a move like that could promote more activity.

I'm not entirely sure this is going to actually benefit any of the moved artists

This is my thought, an artist like Hatchie is just going to slide far down the pages of P&J. This subform feels kinda lacking when buzzier small acts are taken out of it.

And keeping small buzzy acts here can move brand new artist threads down quickly. Hatchie is an established act with 7 pages of discussion and is no longer on her first release.

The solution we actually want to implement is not possible under the current infrastructure. The idea would be to have a subforum within the P&J forum.

It also means the first page of this subform goes back a full week, so I guess I wonder what the pro is here?

I don’t see why this subforum needs to be fast moving. There is a small dedicated group of posters in this subforum and everyone else ignores it.

But the pro is that a random forum user who only posts in P&J has the potential to see the artist thread on the first few pages and find a new discovery.

I don’t think it ever did move fast though. Generally all the threads I’d come here for hovered in the first few pages and are now inactive. Just my thoughts on the changes.
