Thrift Shop finds

I have never been a violent person, i will do anything for anybody.

However recently whilst in chazza shops if there has been somebody physically in the way of the cds on display ie looking at the dvds or books above and the cds are below, i just have this rage come over me, i want to rip there heads off and drop kick it out of the shop, anybody else suffer from this?.

I might not put it in so many words.... :-D but yes, over the years I've been annoyed by people lingering next to me when I've been in my own little world trying to flick through shelves of CDs or crawling around the floor going through boxes of records and someone appears next to me. I've often had people tread on my feet or trip over my kneeling legs and have even had CDs or books drop on me in the past.

Of course, it's all worse post-pandemic and if I see someone there before me hogging the CD aisle I might go into a different shop, or wait outside for them to leave. I like to be left alone to be able to fully concentrate whilst browsing and checking the condition of the discs!

I am the same way. There is a gentleman who visits the stores I tend to visit. First of all, he sets his big gym bag on one side of the CDs and then he will stand on the other side in an attempt to mark his territory, I guess? Secondly, he doesn't wear a mask. I don't bother anymore. I will go to a different shop or visit a different area. But, yes, it fills me with rage.

I also don't like it when people invade my space or reach out for a CD that's right in front of me and they do not even say "excuse me" or apologize. That's just rude.

Got Dragonette's Galore for 50p and Santigold's Master of My Make-Believe for £1 in London this week, buzzing with them!

I got three 1989/1990 CD singles today for 25p each:

Sacrifice/Healing Hands by Elton

Four Bacharach and David Songs by Deacon Blue

and the pièce de résistance:

Girl I'm Gonna Miss You by Milli Vanilli.

I also got a delightful 1987 album by Meli'sa Morgan as part of five CDs for £1, which appears to have originated in America but somehow ended up in Dudley.

I thought I had both the 1987 EMI and the SoulMusic reissue (the oversaturation on the latter's artwork is a shame) but I can't find either on my shelves. This is what happens when you siphon off most of your collection into plastic wallets in storage boxes.

I found The Bodyguard soundtrack in a thrift shop today. Okay, I know it is not a rare find. But what surprised me was that it was still sealed and still had a hype sticker on it. I see used copies of The Bodyguard in thrift shops all the time but I don't think I've ever seen a still-sealed copy. It's both amusing and heartwarming to see the hype sticker advertise "6 new songs by Whitney Houston" considering these songs turn 30 years old this year.

Was rather pleased to finally find a copy of 'Move to This' by Cathy Dennis with 'All Night Long (Touch Me)' on it, rather than the 'Touch Me (All Night Long)' single version. Sun-bleached spines aside (ugh) I think it was worth £1.
Also spent 50p each on 'Baby Sister' by June Pointer (BBR reissue) and a Collectors Choice 'Liza with a Z' CD (because there is more to her than 'Results', right?).
