I finally purchased the CD from her store. For anyone that got the CD, was the wait very long?
I got it mid-February but don't remember when I'd ordered. I feel like the turnaround was fairly quick considering it was signed too.
Nowhere near as long as for the vinyl! I think I waited about a month.
Her version God Rest Ye Merry Christmas is god tier. I still count her as the most creative R&B artist out there. She worked that song.
I just listened to Comfort & Joy and I did not expect to "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen" to slap as hard as it did. Y'all weren't kidding.
Also, in terms of versions of "Last Christmas":
Wham! > Tinashe > everyone else >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Gwen Stefani.
she's not lying but the mental framework is whew.... something else.
This deserved multiple weeks at No. 1.
The way I would kill for a No Scrubs / What's It Gonna Be?! / etc adjacent old school futuristic style Hype Williams video for Link Up......
Not my fave As Told by Kenya making it onto Popjustice! I'm screeching.
Never have heard of her before but lord, her rant on mediocrity around 7:00 is SENDING ME
Listen, she goes in on everyone and everything. AJayII, she is not.
When she gets it right, which is most often than not, she goes all the way.
My most played bop of the year.
I was watching the Superlove video earlier and it reminded me of the time she performed it half drunk during her Instagram Live concert back in March and still nailed 90% of the choreography. Iconic.
that iconic 2 On dance break - ugh, seeing this live was like a religious experience.
This came one my shuffle, which made me come check out what was new in the thread.
Are you single? X
That period where she was promoting 2 On everywhere and we got performance after performance was what made me a STAN.
New collaboration on the way:
