Her power.
It's really unfortunate when you see people on Twitter posting videos of her absolutely killing it, but...FOX decided to air the dress rehearsal, in which she obviously isn't giving her absolute best but will have more eyes, so it'll only validate some people's (horribly misguided and so rude) opinions that she can't sing. Not to mention there were tech issues that affected some of the singing as well. Even Mario sounded small in some of his songs.

Yeah, it was obvious that most of them were tentative in the dress rehearsal, but it wasn't that bad. Tinashe did well except for some pitch issues and her looking like she was thinking about her stage directions. She is a damn performer though and I hope she knows that there are a lot of people who love her.

Yeah, it feels like they should have postponed it until they could do it properly.
I think that it was really the best decision they could make, considering how last minute everything was. But yeah, it probably threw everyone off when they found out about it. Even though everyone did good, the energy is totally different when you’re doing it “for real, for real”. But yeah, no day but today, truly.
I mean, apparently she is now.
That's the thing, Vanessa's voice is more suited for this environment, so it makes sense she gave a better performance. It was very clear that Tinashe was a pop/R&B singer, not a musical theater performer.
I get that (although to me Vanessa’s voice is not pleasing to the ear and she seemed just as pitchy as everyone else up there but with more energy), I’m just saying it’s unfortunate. I mean, Tinashe killed the recording of Seasons of Love but they sang the song twice and didn’t let her do the solo either time. She looked amazing during Out Tonight but they really could’ve utilized her dancing skills even more. It’s nobodys fault, it just sucks that she didn’t get the opportunity to really show how talented she is.
I mean, she definitely could have done more, especially during Out Tonight. But she gave an absolutely stunning and heartbreaking performance of Goodbye Love, and that’s that.
Damn, I just read about what happened, it's so heartbreaking. Poor Tinashe, girl can't catch a break.
She did and I thought Without You (one of my favorite songs) was lovely, as well. I’m not a huge stan but I’ve always thought she’s very talented and watching last night I still thought she gave a great performance even though it was clear it wasn’t her best (or anyone else’s for that matter).
Agreed. Even my musical theatre friends that had no clue of who Tinashe was until last night, thought she did alright. So I guess it was still a win for her.
