TLC

I've searched for years, and have never found an official release that has it. This vinyl promo has clean and dirty listed as 3:59 on the back, but the dirty is listed as 3:40 on the actual label, making me think that the dirty version having an early fade goes all the way back to 1999. I've never understood why the dirty version of that mix fades out so fast. It's like that on all compilations. The S.O.U.L. album lists the track as 4:00, but I've read that it's the clean version (I don't have it, so I can't confirm).

It's so weird that they even censored the CD single to begin with, considering the clean version of the FanMail album doesn't even censor the word "ass."
What bit is censored on the rap version?

"Ass" and "ho" are censored on the 4:00 rap version, but not on the 3:38 rap version (which is not to be confused with the 3:34 album/no rap version).
What’s funny about that edit is the kept the echo after “ho,” so you still hear the word despite the censoring.

Also the CD single with the clean version of “No Scrubs” has the dirty version of “Silly Ho,” which is the more explicit song of the two.

I'm not sure if this has been posted before, but this video came up on my YouTube recommendations. It's a long one but Chilli goes into depth on a lot of stuff. Lots of tea and some shade, and she comes across really nice.

Double post, but after watching the video I posted above I was thinking how amazing an autobiography from Chilli and T-Boz would be. I then discovered T-Boz did actually release one in 2017. I read back through this thread from the time it was released and can't see it mentioned at all. Did anyone read it? She even narrates the audio version.

I need them to release digital EPs for No Scrubs, Unpretty, Girl Talk, and Hands Up like they did the singles from the first two albums. No Scrubs unfortunately didn't have any official mixes (there's a promo one by Hi-Bias, but I don't know if that was label commissioned). It could have the full Left Eye rap mix and the instrumental I guess, plus the Silly Ho instrumental and a cappella.

Most importantly, Unpretty has so many great mixes that need to be out there. The Don't Look Any Further mix with Lisa is super essential, and the Pumpin' Dolls mix is so much fun.

“No Scrubs” (with Lisa’s rap) is too iconic to be this messy.
Sorry for the double post, but upon further investigation, this 12" single has the uncensored rap version and doesn't fade out early. Unfortunately, I still haven't found a CD or any digital source that has it, but nice to know it's out there in some form, I guess? At this point, it'd be easier to recreate it digitally by combining the clean, long mix from the CD single and the explicit fade out version than trying to rip from a vinyl source.

To add to the mess, I seem to remember a time where they uploaded a "With Rap" version to iTunes to iTunes... that just cut off at 3:14, in the middle of the rap. It was taken down pretty quickly. I don't know why the getting the original mix is this mess, but some how, it's so TLC.

I still can't believe that one of their biggest singles hasn't any remixes, they put some random album tracks on the CD singles

That’s what I’m thinking but it seems no one has really bothered to do it. Maybe we should make some noise on Twitter to get the ball rolling on it? I’d rather it be done from the Masters than just a Frankenstein’d version.

Also, did anyone else seethe T-Boz’s episode of “The Haunting Of...” that was uploaded in full this past summer?
Not gonna lie, I teared up when Lisa was mentioned.

That cover has Drag Race vibes.

Ooh I have that single! Didn't realize that version of the track was so hard to come by.

It wasn't from that specific upload, but I found a comment on a clip of that episode that always sent me:

Con artist: I'm seeing an eye... it is not the right eye, but the left eye... left eye...
Tionne: OMG Lisa from my group was called Left Eye!
Con artist: She was performing some kind of song... it went something like "Don't go chasing...? Don't got chasing... something..."
Tionne: Waterfalls! OMG yes our group had a song called "Waterfalls" with those lyrics!
Con artist: That was it! She wanted me to tell you to hurry the hell up with that Kickstarter album because people are beginning to lose interest.
Tionne: ...

Can someone confirm if this was the first song they recorded as a group? I vaguely remember them saying this, or maybe it’s just a figment of my imagination, but either way: Merry Christmas!
