Oh dear, that Cappella performance! Also, why the cobbled together video for Fever? Had the official music video not been finished at the time?
Yeah, I remember only seeing the Fever video after it had gone out of the charts.
I was wondering that. I don’t remember seeing the Fever video until the 1999 VHS/DVD release, but I assumed it had been shown at the time. It used a completely different mix to the album version on the TOTP video.
Tony Dortie’s comment about the Grand National that year triggered a vague memory of it being declared void due to false starts. And sure enough, a quick Google confirmed that.
As far as I know, the Fever video was done later than the UK release. Possibly even the Edit One version wasn't finished at this time.
In the UK "Fever" was released very quickly after "Bad girl" flopped at a Number 10 peak - her lowest since "Lucky Star" in 1984? The record company seemed to have a sense of panic and rush-released "Fever" before an official Music Video was completed!
I remember walking into HMV and seeing Fever on the shelves. I had no idea it has even been released, there was no publicity. It was just...there.
Apart from the title track - the "Erotica" singles run is very good:

Good couple of shows last night with my favourite Sunscreem song Pressure Us, The Beloved's Jon Marsh looking dreamy, Barry Manilow serving camp with the 1993 remix of Copacabana and the arrival of Eurodance in the form of Cappella. Does Dame Kelly O start to front the group from the next single? I always preferred the two "Move" songs to the two "U Got 2" songs.
Shame Gloria Estefan's Go Away was relegated to the breakers, it's such a bop. Same with Come Undone which is my favourite Duran Duran song. No reggae over the two episodes either which was a relief!

Don't Walk Away, has to be one of the ultimate girl group songs of the 90s. Such a tune! And yes, not a bad couple of episodes overall, 1993 has picked up I think now.

The "interesting" thing about that U Got 2 Know performance though is that the rapper on stage (MC Fixx It) was co-writer and the real rapper on their 1994 singles!

Erotica's singles run, is only rivalled by True Blue's run of spectacular singles for me. My top two favourite Madonna album's as well.

Damn right! I recently heard the single/radio remix for the first time. It's lovely, but I still prefer the album mix. That electronic pitch-shifting sound in the middle 8 gets me every time....euphoric....
I know Rain is loved round these parts but the public have all but forgotten it. It's Madonna's most underrated single for me. The spoken word middle 8 is heaven.
Oh yes, the less said about that single remix, the better. Up there with that dreadful radio remix of Kylie's A Lifetime To Repair.
