Re: Travel

Yeh jackbox travelling alone is so much fun. Hostels are great. I made so many friends this summer in all sorts of places.

Travelling alone seems so daunting! Especially if you're shy.

Re: Travel

I don't think I would find it enjoyable. Imagine going to a museum and not being able to tell ANYONE how shit you thought the last painting was? How boring. It would be freeing though. I'm dying to go to Iceland. Maybe I'll go alone?

I'll go with you! I don't think anyone I know would want to come with me to a local supermarket despite me telling them a hundred times it's basically Bjorkland.

Re: Travel

But the point is that you meet people and then go to the museum with them..? It improves your confidence.

Get this chance to travel around the ASEAN region when you have time.

I'm somewhat shy (more social anxiety than shyness) but I've traveled alone twice and both times were absolutely amazing.

I think it depends on the destination. I've gone to an island where I had things to do all day long and there were always other people with me in beach tours, diving, surfing etc. I made friendships with couples, a group of guys etc. So there was always people to talk to, except at my hotel, but I only went there to sleep.

Plus I just felt a lot more free, I did everything I wanted, took walks late night at the beach, chose my schedule etc.

My other destination was Sao Paulo last weekend and it was great too. (grindr helped me on this one, I found a nice guy who told me good places to visit)

I'm going to NYC in december and I can't wait.

Re: Travel

I love Cambodia, but some locals are so sneaky. But, a lot of people know English which is quite comforting.

Currently, I'm eyeing El Nido (Philippines). It looks so calm.

I'm going to be quite the globetrotter next summer, got invited on yet another holiday! That makes 4 now. I don't know whether to be happy that I'm getting to explore so many places, or to be sad at the devastation next summer will cause to my bank account.

Re: Travel

Where are you going? I can't wait to go to Vietnam in February for 4 months, I am so in love with Asia after visiting India and Qatar. I have such a long list of places to go and I will succeed!

Re: Travel

Going for the piss-up beach holiday with some friends, no idea where but probably Magaluf or Ayia Napa.. Then I'm going interrailing around Europe for a couple of weeks which will be around Netherlands, Germany, Italy and a few other countries with my best friend, then my folks want to take me on a family holiday which is always to a Mediterranean island and another friend has offered for me to join their family in Spain cause they have a private villa out there! Basically, I will be abroad for the majority of my summer. Colour me excited!
