Vancouver and Vancouver Island suggestions for September? I’m so excited, but don’t know how to split my time!

Ooh I live in Vancouver! I'd be happy to show you around, grab a drink if I'm in town (I'm in Europe Aug 29 - Sept 16). Feel free to hit me up!

Vancouver in September is beautiful. A lot of tourists have left and it quiets down a bit, but still a lot happening and the weather is still really nice (typically) so you'll enjoy it. Not sure how many days you have, but I'd start in Vancouver and then go to the Island. If you go to the Island, I recommend Victoria & Tofino.

As for Vancouver, lots of things you can do
- Grouse Mountain
- Davie Street (Gay area - Pumpjack, Junction, Numbers are a few of the clubs/bars)
- Stanley Park (rent a bike)
- Walk down Commercial Drive (considered the "hip/hipster" area) - lots of character
- Walk the Seawall (once again rent a bike or even some rollerblades; it's a lot of fun and as you walk up there's a couple different beaches along the way which is fun)
- Walk around Gastown (lots of nice cafes, restaurants and bars) and see the Steamtown Clock and the statue lovingly called "Gassy Jack"
- Granville Island
- The Police Museum (I took my Mom when she was visiting and we both really enjoyed it; didn't expect it to be so interesting)
- Visit Deep Cove (very quaint area in North Vancouver) and rent a kayak
- Also in Deep Cove area hike up to Quarry Park
- Lighthouse Park in West Vancouver (GORGEOUS)
- Kitsilano Beach Park (more local and less touristy than English Bay)
- Wreck Beach (clothing optional beach by UBC - University of British Columbia)

For Victoria
- Parliament Building (it's really pretty)
- Chinatown (Fan Tan Alley is cool)
- Butchart Gardens
- Ogden Point Breakwater (https://www.victoriatrails.com/trails/ogden-point-breakwater/)
- The Rolling Barrel Tour (so much fun!) it's pub crawling with a group of people on a pedal bike

If you plan to or don't mind renting a car, I'd recommend a day trip to Squamish as well if you're into hiking and the outdoors. The hike up to Garibaldi lake is beautiful, and the lake itself is amazingly gorgeous and usually frozen and snow covered well into Spring even though its quite hot in the area (not sure how much it melts by Fall). It's definitely a full day hike there and back. The Sea to Sky gondola will take you up to some amazing views of the sound and mountains in the back. You can forgo the gondola and hike up. It's beautiful and forested and you follow a river/waterfall, but it quite steep the entire way and the first bit is all stairs. There's also a hike/walk up the Stawamus Chief.

Thank you guys so much - this is amazing advice and I will definitely be adding some of these to my to-do list!

Huntitas!

Anyone know Portugal/Lisbon well? I'm going over in three weeks and I need recommendations of places to visit, things to see, dicks to suck and the like.

The plan is to do a roadtrip from Málaga to Lisbon.
We are staying for a few nights in Portimao and then we are off to the capital, so anything in the south half of the country should be doable.

Been there twice, my sister lives there for a few months too. I can make a list of places depending on what you like. About dicks to suck making new friends, my apps were literally on continuous alarm while I was there. I'm still shocked if I think about it.

The proverbial Three (Spanish) B's would be nice.
Bueno (nice), bonito (cute) and barato (cheap), por favor.

Places to eat, places to drink, faggotry, etc.

Hey! Anybody from Amsterdam that maybe could help me? I want to buy tickets for a concert, but everything is in Dutch and the translator is not helping, lol.

Anyone from/been to anywhere in the Philippines? I think I've settled on flying into Manila and getting one full day there and from there trying to fit in El Nido, Puerto Princesa, Boracay, Cebu City, Bohol and Legazpi into a 3 week trip but trying to decide how long to spend in each place and what to do/avoid now.

Is winter a good time to be in South Korea? Around December 2019 / January 2020. Any recommendations on where to go aside from the K-Pop stuff? Two weeks is just right, isn't it?

I sent a PM. El Nido and Bohol are both great destinations.

Thank you!! Will respond soon!

Could you possibly chuck me across that PM? We're thinking about heading there in the next year as well. Open to doing pretty much anything, but priority (for me, not my other half whoops) is good diving like El Nido etc. so anything you know about that is amazing.

@Solenciennes let me know what its like when you go.

So... my holiday plans are in tatters because my ESTA was denied but my boyfriend’s wasn’t. Totally baffled as I’ve been to the US multiple times before without any problem, and I don’t have a particularly common name so there’s no chance I’ve been mistaken for a criminal.

Fucking fuck Trump.

There has to be a reason though. Do you have a record? Did you definitely answer the questions correctly or have you been to any of the countries on their watch list? Etc.

No criminal record, multiple previous visits to the US with authorised visa waivers (and no stays longer than three weeks), and no visits to countries on the watchlist. I completed the application as a group application for both me and my boyfriend, and the only differences are the personal details so I don’t think it’s an admin error on any of the fields.

I wish they’d even just give a category of error so I could figure out what might be wrong. I’m truly baffled.

Have you called the number? They probably wouldn't tell you anything but I might be worth a try? Or even resubmitting it? A friend of mine just went for a work visa and got denied because her employer accidentally spelt her middle name wrong on the paperwork; now she'll never be able to get an ESTA again because technically she's had a visa denial. The whole system is a total nightmare.

I am so excited to be flying to London tonight! I've gone through Heathrow before on a connecting flight, but I've never stayed in London before. Going to be solo travelling there for 6 days before moving on to Greece. Been a dream to visit especially following the UK pop culture/tv shows and charts since I was a kid. Can't wait!

Hopefully can go to G-A-Y.
