Best hotels in New York for a solo traveller thanks xxx
I like Pod 39 / Pod 51 and have stayed their multiple times solo – the rooms are small but the vibe is cute, and usually pretty decent prices. If it's your first time there they're pretty well located.

A burning question for you all: what is the footwear situation for Lisbon nightlife? I’m trying to pack really light for a week long holiday, and wondering how strict the footwear dress code will be!

Yes, you will find people in bars wearing flip-flops during summer so trainers are great. Lisbon isn't a posh city.
I'm going to Lisbon tomorrow, been told to go to bars in Rua Cor de Rosa (Pink Street).

Any recommendations for good gay bars, clubs, cruising bars or bathhouses?

Me and some friends are planning a 10 days trip to Norway end of October. So far we are planning on going to Oslo > Trondheim > Bodo > Lofoten islands then back to Bergen on a 3 days cruise before getting back to Olso. Do you guys have any tips or suggestions as to what we should do or maybe avoid?

I'm doing a 4/5 week trip to South Korea > Phillipines > Hong Kong next year - thinking of a 14/12/4 day split in the same order. Any tips/recommendations would be greatly appreciated - particularly for SK & Phillipines. Massive foodie and love a mix of hiking/shopping/relaxing.

Re: Philippines, i went in 2016! El Nido, on Palawan, is a great spot where you can take boat trips among the most stunning lagoons. I’ve travelled a fair bit across Asia and it really blew me away. There are beautiful beaches too. The island of Coron right by Palawan has more of the same lovely boat day tours. I spent a few days on both but El Nido is probably nicer. (Just to note, it’s a 5 hour car ride from the main island airport, unless you fly into the teeny local airport - I think the flights are infrequent/expensive)

I found Manila a total bust im afraid. The traffic seemed to be a constant standstill, plus the typical city humidity & warnings of pickpockets. It’s inevitable to stay there as a way to get elsewhere but it didn’t leave a great impression. There’s an amazing gay club I went to, possibly it was named O Bar? On Google maps it looks the same but I’m not 100%. I also visited the shoe museum (!) of Imelda Marcos’ shoes. It was a bit surreal but something unique to do in the city. I also found the Chinese cemetery quite moving, but the person I was with was totally indifferent ddd.

Boracay is known for its stunning white beaches and tourist-esque scene. Among travellers it wasn’t spoken of that well, but I thought it was lovely.
Travelling between islands can be cumbersome and we had a lot of rain when we went; probably every day. Such a beautiful place to visit though, I have very fond memories.

I've only been to Oslo and stayed mostly in city centre area. It's such a beautiful city and so walkable. Hot boys everywhere!

Has anyone ever had any experience doing anything like this:

https://www.globalworkandtravel.com

Are these types of things legit? I'm... genuinely considering fucking off for 6-12 months but I'm scared of being scammed or being left stranded in a different country fff
They're basically businesses that will charge you to do stuff that you can do for free by organising yourself, but they cream a lot of profit off the top. So it's a good resource for thinking "hmm I might fancy that" but then I'd... just take steps yourself to make it happen rather than go through a third party.

They don't offer anything you can't access yourself with a bit of legwork and research, and you'll likely save thousands.

Any of you UK girlies had experience staying at the Roomzzz hotels? Good/bad? I've just reserved a room for next August.

I'm not even sure if I can 100% go yet because I may get into one of these 12 month uni graduate programmes ddd (which obviously takes priority). But anyway it's reserved in case I flop, I'll definitely need a break and the plan is a month this time
