So! I can see why it was delayed because the video is ambitious almost to a fault. There is
a lot going on (and it's still imperfect). Brilliant ideas and visuals throughout, but yet again it feels kneecapped by the runtime. The editing is a skosh
tew haphazard trying to juggle the four distinct scenes and two performance sets
and the groupchat
and the CGI
and a turtle. I found myself distracted by how I wanted it to
linger a little. Some establishing shots before the music begins might've given it more room to breathe. Ultimately more fatiguing than exhilarating, but kudos for the audacity.
Now onto some news:
MODHAUS's official statement in English re: broadcasting:
As with the previous two promotions, we were planning for 3 weeks of music show appearances upon the debut of +(KR)ystal Eyes. +(KR)ystal Eyes made their debut this week, but there are no other broadcast schedules besides M COUNTDOWN. It is difficult to disclose everything regarding the situation as it may target a certain figure or company which may lead to legal complications. What we can share with caution is that music show appearances are still unclear due to the people and forces that are keeping tripleS in check. We will not make excuses for our lack of power as a start-up company. There's no reason for the company to intentionally hold back Krystal Eyes from appearing on music shows and in light of the two previous activities, they are not at a level that would prevent them from appearing on music shows. We think these hardships will make Modhaus and tripleS stronger. Modhaus and the management team will continue to do our best to make tripleS and +(KR)ystal Eyes available to as many people as possible.
It's hard not to read this as some form of retaliation for signing on ARTMS due to the timing, but does Polaris/Levite United really have that kind of pull and is Lee Jong-Myung that petty? Let me continue to weave a hex for that man anyways. x
