Tumblr

I just hit the 1,000 followers mark the other day.

I thought I was gonna get excited and make a post about it. But I'm soo touchy about posting about how many followers I have. But I still feel like I should say something because I'm still a little excited. So there we go.

YAY! Currently at 1,025 now.

I only have 20! I would LOVE more but I can't see 1,000+ in the near future.

^ I've had mine for a year and I finally hit it! There's some people I follow who've had theirs for like 4 months, post the same content as me, and have like 2,000+. It's no fair! Haha.

Damn! You blow me out of the water! haha

I love tumblr and it's a great platform for getting all kinds of music related news, pics, whatever in one place, but it's utterly addictive and you end up wasting all your time on there! haha.

Link is in my sig.

A lot of blogs I follow are getting deleted, left and right. A lot of people are getting warnings to for things like saying racial slurs and other "offensive" things.

Now, I follow some weird and legitimately offensive (at times) tumblrs, but that censorship is really wrong. I dunno, it just wreaks of unnecessary; I mean, it's just the Internet.

WHAT?! You can get banned from Tumblr? What kind of bullshit is that? As long as you're not doing anything illegal you have every right to post "offensive" content. Don't like it, don't follow that blog, simple.

What exactly did they do to get banned?

What baffles me is that one of my favorite blogs NEVER posted anything "bad" or gross, but after posting a picture of a dead animal, Tumblr HQ figured that reason enough. There are freaking gore blogs (which is disgusting) but I don't see those banned.

I know this other really likeable, hilarious black girl got deleted for using... DA N WERD (gasp!) too much. That was absolutely outrageous because one, I hear worse at school every day, and two, that seemed very childish on Tumblr's part. I mean there's one created soley so the creator can mock Jesus and Christianity and general; I'm not saying they don't have the right, but who is Tumblr to decide what and what isn't "offensive"?!

OH WELL.

I'm actually happy about the bannings. It's a blog site, and far too many people use it as they would Facebook or Twitter, and it is beyond annoying. Even proper blogs I follow sometimes fall into the trap of TMI.

Re: Porn - Thank God it's not just me. Some of the comic book blogs I follow have suddenly decided to start posting random porn pictures, both cartoon and real. Very annoying. And they tag it 'NSFW' as if it makes any difference. How is that helping me avoid the pictures at work when I have to scroll past the photo to see this supposed warning? Idiots.

I'm really in shock that they would ban people for stuff like that. The thing I love about Tumblr most is that it gives you the freedom to post what you want (as long as it's not illegal), but it looks like sadly the powers that be at Tumblr are taking that freedom away.

What a load of shit, it's the internet for fucks sake.

Except no one has gotten banned for "TMI", people have gotten banned for stupid reasons which are not even worth getting banned over. I don't even understand why you would be "happy" about someone getting banned. If you don't like what certain blog posts, don't follow them, it's really quite simple.

A lot of the TMI people tend to be the ones posting useless and/or offensive crap. And why wouldn't I be happy about people that post offensive things or pornography getting banned? As there are no filters and anyone you follow is able to post anything from videos of puppies playing to pictures of men getting fucked up the bum hole, warning and then banning users is fine by me.

As for following, I usually follow people that follow me, at least initially, so running into such idiocy is unavoidable.
