It’s frustrating that Ellie Goulding seems to be out of the running, because Like A Saviour would’ve made a very strong entry for us.

That Mimi Webb song is not that memorable, though I do enjoy it. Birdy’s Raincatchers would be alright if it had more of an elevated last chorus to it.

I think the BBC's strategy for the last few years has been to aim for a solid jury vote when selecting (James Newman's first song was going to pick up a chunk of jury votes, and then Sam won the juries). If true, a Freya or Birdy selection would make more sense than picking Mae Muller or Mimi. They'd both be easier to stage too.

I think I've convinced myself it is Mae actually. Despite all the positivity around ESC, I wouldn't be surprised if all the other rumoured ladies would still say "don't think I need to do this".
She's not signed to them is she? Perhaps one of their producers is involved again.

The only good thing about them sending this, is that it could stand out, there are so few generic bops this year. And we sent a bop to Junior Eurovision and did it well, so if the delegations overlap, perhaps it'll be ok.

But I won't believe it until they announce it, it seems so random, and unlike the UK team.

How do they actually choose, and who does it? There must be some transparency, given the BBC ties.

I wouldn't mind the Birdy song. I think it could pop with the right staging. But we know the BBC delegation don't excel there (and I'm including Sam's performance) sooooooo...

I'm here for Mae and the Love Island bop. I wasn't expecting the BBC to go for a win this time. As mentioned we slayed it at Junior so bring that to the big one and I'm happy.

A big gay female dance bop is LONG overdue!

Honestly Raincatchers is the most interesting rumoured song; I like Mimi's other songs but Freezing wouldn't be a good pick, Freya's song is dull and I don't think I see it for Mae based on what I've seen.

Agree, Raincatchers is the best rumoured song so far but needs a complete remix/edit to make it work for Eurovision. I still think Freya’s Weekends could do ok but would need exciting staging.

The Mae snippet is not promising. If this is the choice, I wonder if they were trying to go with a SloMo (while misunderstanding a bit SloMo’s appeal)?

If it truly is "I Wrote A Song" then I'm kind of gobsmacked. I'm struggling to believe that's a legitimate contender in anyone's eyes. It reads and sounds like a parody of a pop song. It's awful.

It's giving me zero points vibes all the way. What a spectacular fall from grace that would be for us.
