UK Entry 2025

I don’t think Last Night’s Mascara would be eligible to be our entry.

It was a bonus track on a digital deluxe version of her album before the eligibility period.

I can't see them just announcing the act and song on Friday, surely it's an advert announcing the reveal coming soon? There's nothing in the schedule, it has zero connection to Traitors the programme. So my guess is just an announcement of an announcement.

Or a guest on the aftershow announces it's them, perhaps.

If it's being announced on Traitors, then surely it has to be someone instantly recognisable?

On Digital Spy, someone mentioned that Scottish singer Tom Walker is releasing a new song on Friday. Apparently he has two songs over 100 million streams...

Over my dead body

He does and is also Scottish... it definitely fits with what I was expecting this year!

EDIT - the clip of Friday's new song sounds incredibly boring.

If it is Ian Walker, I hope it’s not that song as it's a bit meh. Great vocals though so that's a start.

He reminds me of our previous UK entry James Newman. I just hope they do better staging, as James Newman's one was awful.

Gays lost and I won't be streaming but this sort of thing might be a decent shot at getting to the left half of the leaderboard.

He/Him
Not a fan of Tom's but out of curiosity had a listen to his most recent tracks and I feel like Holy Ghost is the only one the really sounds like a Eurovision track? I imagine it would go down well with the part of the EV fandom that likes that style of Big Voiced MOR pop tracks, by the end of my 2nd listen i actually quite enjoyed it.

Edit, never mind it come out before eligibility for 2025

Whilst I agree it’s unlikely it’ll be Griff anyway, Last Night’s Mascara was released on November 8th - have they really set the eligibility period that late this year? It was September for the BBC if I remember correctly.

That Tom Walker song sounds like absolute dirge so that’s probably it!

Tom Walker would be a very sensible (but maybe boring) choice.
Presumably if so we'll be getting something similar to what James Newman was going with originally (which would have done so much better than what he was landed and flopped with).

Oh wait, just listened to the clip. It's even more boring than James original song, but could see it doing reasonably well with juries. Not sure about televotes though.
