UK Entry 2025

Can't bloody wait to hear the song! I love Only Teardrops, so expecting something powerful with moments.

I actually think the BBC would be happy with another win. Do broadcasters not want these kind of projects? The chances of winning are not high, so why not try for the top each time? Yes it must be expensive, but the positives and opportunities that go with it, are just incredible.

I don't think the goal should be them winning. I think the goal should be a better result than last year. My only goals for the UK are:
1) left side of scoreboard even if it's at the bottom of the left side
2) points from both jury and televote - no zeros and ideally both in the double digits
3) a performance that doesn't get talked about afterward for being awful

Of course, I'm sure that is what they're aiming for, the same as us.

I'm referring to the notion that they'd rather not win and host again so soon, I'm not sure that is true.

I think BBC does want to win. Not sure the government wants it, but the broadcaster does.

I think the same goes for SVT. They want that record-breaking win but it doesn't seem like the Swedish gov wants to host again.

Mine would be:
1. After the dress reversals no one is saying “yeah the UK vocals are a bit wobbly but I’m sure it’ll be fine by the actual show”

I think whilst they might not want to win, there is no harm in at least trying.

With all the randomness of the draw, 25 other songs, just to assume that if we want to win we would is ridiculous.

But trying to win and having us up there in the left hand side and maybe Top 5 with the occasional 12 makes for a far more exciting night!!!

In those terrible years of Josh Dubovie, Surie and Michael Rice it was obvious we didn’t want to win and couldn’t be bothered to compete!

Yeah, we shouldn't fall into the trap again of thinking of the BBC as a homogenous blob. It might be inconvenient for the bean counters if we win again, but BBC Eurovision team have made it pretty clear they are intent on winning and hosting again.

Besides, the way the BBC threw everything at it in 2023, when they technically could have said no, really ought to have dispelled any fears that they don't want to win. In recent years they've finally realised what a huge draw the contest is for younger viewers, and these sort of live events that brings the country together are what gives the BBC a purpose in the streaming era.

It annoyed me when they used to say "we're aiming for left side of the board". You need to be 10th best to score a single point. If you aim for 13th you deserve to come 26th.

Something like High Horse/80's Mercedes/Boots Stop Workin' would possibly be quite killer to be honest.

I need the song to be good.

I’m ready to stan a trio of nice relatable girls with killer vocals who are trying something different and are just happy to be there for the experience but at the same time have a quiet hunger and determination to win and do their country proud.
