I am following the thread because I am interested in the entry and what it sounds like, but I don't feel the need to like something because it will do well at ESC, or to be hopeful about a good result, rather a good song.
I find it sometimes feels like most British ESC fans would happily back something as awful as It's My Time because of its chances at ESC, rather than a much better song that might bomb.
I think a lot of people hope for both: a good song and a good result.
It’s also valid for some people to want the good result as their priority - some engage with the competition/contest (who knows) as a competition/contest rather than as a route to discover new music they love, and that’s also fair enough. Each to their own.
