UK Entry 2025

It’s a shame to have another year where the uk is not really in contention isn’t it.

I get what they were trying to do with the experimental song, but with a big ballad like France’s entry and Remember Monday’s vocals, we’d be more in the running

I still have some hope that with a strong staging concept + a rearrangement of the song to create some big moments of vocal stand out, we might do ok.

The boyfriend doesn't really like Eurovizh much but is something of a psychic octopus around it. Hearing an overview of all entries he thinks the UK will land Top 10.

Oversimplification acknowledged, but I feel like you do have an entry that will stand out - especially depending on where it gets placed and what comes through the semis (which isn’t exactly an earth-shatteringly original observation, I know).

But you could say that Belgium, Cyprus, Denmark, Finland, and Germany all have a little bit of shared sonic DNA; maybe you could also say something similar for Australia, Estonia, Iceland, San Marino, and Sweden.

To put it another way: at least from what I can remember hearing, there isn’t a song which does a better job of being Remember Monday, than Remember Monday themselves.

I’m going to humour myself for a minute and try and envision a scenario where this doesn’t completely flop….

And I guess an argument could be made that in the current hellscape we are living in, in terms of global politics, maybe a carefree song with a message about getting absolutely blind drunk & doing embarrassing stuff but reveling in it as a form of escapism might resonate.

The one thing that can’t be argued is that the girls will undoubtedly give a strong vocal performance.

Here’s my attempt at the turn of events where this happens:

- their vocal abilities at the pre-parties performances are so good it starts to create more of a fan buzz

- the staging is really original / stand out full on musical theatre performance that interest rockets up during rehearsal week through the clips coming through (a la Ireland last year).

- they have a live version of the song that allows some massive vocal moments (focusing less on harmonies and more a few big builds/notes)

- the producers place this after a wild entry, so the “what the hell just happened becomes iconic”

- they come top 8 with the juries; and get a few points from the televote and come better than last year’s 18th, showing a positive trajectory of UK results from Mae to Olly to Remember Monday.

I think the UK have had the best entries in recent years than the last twenty years put together. We have a knack for sending questionable entries, so while they have underperformed the last two years, we are on the right track in terms of entry selections ie. not trusting the British public to vote for our representatives.

Still 50/50 with Remember Monday's placing. It's a good song, but don't know how other countries will respond to it.

This is a world I want to live in.

It's also not fantasy. I think it's fair to say last year things peaked with Olly's announcement, but went downhill from then. Mae had decent momentum but the pre parties caused jitters for translating the bop live, and by the final it was basically over.

So, let's manifest an upward trajectory for our girls this year!

Ha at them saying everyone in the team has to get a Eurovision tattoo if they come top 5... or "dead last".

Vocals sound good in some of those clips from promo today too.

Amazing. I'm more excited hearing the whole thing through as I can see how it will work live. My worry now is that the staging becomes too busy and showy (and literal) it impacts the vocal.

And they look like they are having an absolute blast too which helps. Very easy to root for these girls!
