UK Entry 2025

Yeah, I think they're very clearly aware of the focus on the live vocal, so they'll be careful not to compromise it and to do everything to showcase it.

I love this song. It's a total earworm.
I love it now but definitely took 5 listens. I don’t think it’s going to be as instant for the casual viewers.

I also can’t fully cope with the lost a shoe opening line, sorry. It still feels weird after stating the BBC were looking for a song with genuine emotional storytelling that we have a song with a lot of performative pearl clutching (literally). As much as I like the act, and enjoy the uniqueness of the song. But it’s still without genuine emotion for me, which is a shame as we could have had a wow moment with a soaring ballad like France this year.

Looking at the Remember Monday cross-Europe promo efforts, it feels a bit “what happened?” with Mae and Olly’s years? Why didn’t either really promote (or did they and I missed it?).
Mae did a couple of parties that.. didn't go well, and it was a hard one to do any sort of acoustic-y promo with as it was so reliant on the backing. Olly was in a similar position but he also had a lot of the Israel drama hanging over him so I think that put the brakes on much of the promo.

This entry however is basically perfect for them rocking up to radio/TV/podcast studios and just singing, and they seem more than willing to do so.

It's really not that deep, just meant to be a fun song
Being a fun song - it is - doesn't mean it's beyond critique for lazy songwriting, sorry.

I really like the group, and they sell the hell out of the song, but as a song itself, it just doesn't stand up, despite it having a good hook, decent build throughout, and excellent vocals. Luckily Eurovision is also about the performance, staging, energy, vocals - I'm confident they will deliver on all of those fronts. There is potential for the UK to do well (and they'd deserve to).
