Well, this does work well live
It’s coming home. We’re going to win Eurovision.
(I go through this phase every year)
Well, this does work well live
The problem with starting big is that the song has nowhere to go which in turn makes it seem repetitive as hell and even live they can’t seem to find away round that yet.
I love it now but definitely took 5 listens. I don’t think it’s going to be as instant for the casual viewers.Yeah, I think they're very clearly aware of the focus on the live vocal, so they'll be careful not to compromise it and to do everything to showcase it.
I love this song. It's a total earworm.
It's really not that deep, just meant to be a fun songThis song continues to send me. “Someone lost a shoe” with that really emotional vocal. “It was time to unwind and I volunteered”?? The Americanism of “no clue” is also really jarring.
Mae did a couple of parties that.. didn't go well, and it was a hard one to do any sort of acoustic-y promo with as it was so reliant on the backing. Olly was in a similar position but he also had a lot of the Israel drama hanging over him so I think that put the brakes on much of the promo.Looking at the Remember Monday cross-Europe promo efforts, it feels a bit “what happened?” with Mae and Olly’s years? Why didn’t either really promote (or did they and I missed it?).
Being a fun song - it is - doesn't mean it's beyond critique for lazy songwriting, sorry. It's really not that deep, just meant to be a fun song
