UK Entry 2025

I do not believe that in the slightest. Her whole career so far has been about trying to build credibility and in just don’t see her taking this risk.

I'd be very surprised if another relatively "big" act did this so soon after nothing going right with Olly but we'll see.

Yeah I won't for a second entertain the idea that she would do it, which is a shame as talent-wise I think she'd be pretty perfect!

I really feel like the Beeb will go down the more undiscovered/just bubbling under route like they did with Sam and Mae and as much as I would love it to be Becky, she's too established by now.

Personally I think that they might have followed that route in 2024, but when Olly came knocking/said yes they probably couldn't believe their luck so didn't want to look a gift horse in the mouth.

Becky Hill with a banger would be fantastic, I do fear you'll for something much safer/more GP-pandering after underperfoming twice with pop bops (which in both cases would have been avoided if the vocals had just been better).

Agree. If both songs had had strong live vocals, we would have been left hand side for both.

The announcement above is very positive: it suggests they are going for outstanding vocals and drama/emotion, which is exactly what we need.

That is indeed a very promising announcement. I do think we need to play to our strengths, and send something unmistakably British in sound that reminds people how much of a player we are when it comes down to great Pop & Rock music. As a country we have such a rich musical history, and i think Sam captured it perfectly with what he put forward to the contest alongside his genuine charisma & talent.

I’m not suggesting anything that replicates Spaceman, but something that similarly echoes our history in the way that song did with its obvious influences & nods to classic British artists and sounds.

Saying that, i really enjoyed the tracks Olly & Mae put through, especially I Wrote A Song, but i do wholeheartedly agree with the majority of the criticism they received when it comes to where they faltered.

I am extremely hopeful despite our recent results.
