UK Entry 2025

I assumed the 1988 Callback meant a reference to our Entry that year?

So Scott Fitzgerald (robbed by 1 point).

He was Scottish... He was a man... He did a ballad after two years of midtempo entries...

He was... selected by televote.

No idea. A Scottish act seems most likely and CHVRCHES have been shortlisted previously have they no, so makes sense if it the guys but a different (or, less likely I think, additional) female vocalist?

We haven’t had a Scottish act in my lifetime so I’d be here for it.

HYYTS were shortlisted for 2022 with this banger, but they obviously went with Sam instead. The lead singer Adam has been teasing some solo music, but would be a left field choice.

ili is the stage name of Emily Middlemas who was on X Factor a few years ago, so she clearly isn’t against doing a TV contest. Her latest release came out after 1st September and is under 3 minutes…

“technically there might be two artist reveals, the latter reveal (if true) is wild”

Personally I don’t think “wild” is an accurate description for either the blokes from CHVRCHES or Callum Scott so I don’t think it’s those.

Could it be CHVRCHES revealed first and the guest vocalist announcement is the ‘wild’ bit?

They/them, he/him
Look, I love Bananarama as much as the next self-respecting gay, but sending them to Eurovision? Absolutely not.

Can’t we just send somebody with a SloMo clone and be done with it?!

The son of the UK 1988 entry is a songwriter (Ki Fitzgerald), and co-wrote this previous Eurovision banger:

So if that person is legit, this feel like the most realistic link?

That's cool - but also Monsters flopped badly on the night. Poor Saaaara Aaaalto.

She was robbed (or rather cannibalised by other very strong female led bops hoovering up televotes I think). Either way 25th felt very unfair, given how good the vocal was, although qualifying was a pretty big achievement in itself.

I still bop to Monsters regularly, great little track. Rest of her album is pretty solid, of basic, Scandipop too.
