It feels like the country has grinded to a halt. Nothing works. Nothing is being built. Nothing happens. Everything is expensive. No one has any money. We get nothing for the money that we do spend.

The housing ladder and market is broken with unaffordable depoits and now mortgages and there's a leaseholder crisis coming down the line, bookmark me.

Crime is ignored. Young people have nothing and are completely demotivated.

I'm losing £3k of my salary to a student loan balance that goes down by £300 for the same period. I will NEVER forgive the likes of Martin Lewis and how it was sold to me at the time. It was completely misleading.

It's shit.
Late stage Thatcherism.

I just moved to Australia last week and the difference is insane. It's been a slow sink to the bottom you can't fully appreciate until you're out of it.
I had two years living there a while back and I miss it so much. I was working 20-25 hours weekly in a restaurant & had more money to spend than I did working a full time corporate role in London. Not to mention a far better quality of life. I don’t know how things are presently, but people there were much lighter and happier.

I agree. It's endless misery. The Government is shit, whoever is in power. People can't afford houses or to live in general. Different groups are targeted in the media or by the Government to be their scapegoat - trans people, disabled people etc. I'm disabled and only work 2 days a week and have just seen that the Government wants to cut disability benefits. But they also admit that PIP disability benefit fraud is practically non existent. There seems to be a growing feeling that disabled people are lazy scroungers and I'm sick of it.

It’s just gutting that the reaction to things being so bad is to keep voting for more of the same - Labour, Tories and Reform are a sliding scale from least shit to most shit ultimately peddling similar ideas.

The real party that should be benefitting are the Greens - but the media have no interest in giving them a platform because we know their owners/high-ups would rather not promote a party that’s going to make them pay a fairer share of tax.

I’m still bitter about Corbyn losing so badly - things like free internet and extra bank holidays should have been such appealing things people would want to support but it was all spun so negatively.

The difference between 2017 and 2019 in how the media portrayed everything was shocking. There was a semblance of impartiality in 2017 and people liked what they saw. But in 2019 you had Emma Barnett asking if Labour were going to nationalise sausages and the BBC replacing footage of Johnson from Remembrance Sunday from five years earlier.

Nigel Farage STILL?!?! I cannot understand how so many diverse, lovely Londoners can live in such close proximity to him, for god knows how long it's been, and the worst thing that's happened to him so far is that one time someone threw a milkshake or something at him? He's such a little SHIT.

I mean...

I'm praying for you UKunties. I admittedly haven't been keeping up on how all that... "Change."... is going. Shit, I'm guessing?

Obviously that's not what I want but part of me want to see a parallel universe where Reform wins, and they find themselves really fucked not knowing what to do.

However, that was Trump's first run and look where we are now...

They will promise the earth and blame others (minorities/labour) when it doesn’t work out.
