UK Politics: Hell Island, 2025

he/him
Please see below a letter to everyone regarding my actions last week. I have tried to reach out to @JMRGBY both on the forum and on Instagram but understandably it seems I’m blocked/ignored by him.

I received your message but I needed time to process it.

I’m very glad you’re learning and educating yourself. It takes a lot to willingly admit your own prejudice and question yourself on your own views and I think it’s great that you’re doing that. I believe it should be commended that you’ve taken the time to not only engage with people about it but also take their advice and seek out opinions from people both inside and outside your usual circle. Keep it up.

Is there a way for any activist group to appeal the ruling? Is there one underway? How can we support?

Good Law Project believe the UK is now in breach of its obligations under the Human Rights Act and the European Convention of Human Rights and they plan to ask the High Court for a declaration of incompatibility.

Link below with more info. They’re a not for profit so are fundraising via the same link if you’re able to support:

Oh well more fool them then.
Have to disagree here. The BBC plays an important role in the world of media outside of the United Kingdom. It’s one of the final bastions of credible news even if its coverage of U.K. news, especially politics, is questionable. But the bigger point here is the sheer irony of the fact that it could be Labour that delivers the fatal blow to Auntie. Who needs the Tories when Labour is hell bent on delivering the Conservatives’ agenda. We’re truly en route to making Britain Great again.

There is nothing credible about the BBC. It’s run by a Tory and is continually lobbied by Tories to push a specific agenda. It’s just as corrupt as the rest of the them.

This idea that somehow the BBC is this beacon for breaking impartial news is just simply false.

Not if you work in news in a foreign country like I did for decades. I understand where you’re coming from, however, having witnessed how far it’s fallen.

The left say the BBC is a Tory right wing mouthpiece.
The right say the BBC is elitist media with a liberal agenda.

It can't be both.
BBC News’s position is basically to be subscribed to neoliberal economics, so from the right wing of the Labour Party rightwards. Anything outside of acceptance of general Thatcherist economics gets a hostile reception.

The BBC, particularly as an employer are also generally in favour of liberal social positions, anti outright racism or homophobia. That means they get attacked for hiring people of colour or women.

But the News side will also join in with reactionary hysteria like appointing a small boats correspondent or having all the Terfs on.

News also suffers from their impartiality rules. Which for many years meant even if 95% of scientists agree that man made climate change is a real thing, you still need someone representing the 5% who don’t, for balance.

It really does feel like we are heading backwards in terms of equality and progress. The loudest voices are pushing Ignorance and bigotry, but I am holding onto the fact many more support the community and are pushing back.

I think the hardest thing to witness is that such a large percentage of those against the trans community are women. Do they not realise, it'll be trans people first having rights stripped away, then gay people, then women themselves!

You just have to look at the BBC website to see how they frame stories to confirm it pushes a right wing narrative.

The right claim it pushes liberal agenda in order to continue putting pressure on them to move further to the right.

As a Scottish person, I saw how biased they were during the independence referendum.

Even the other day, they ran an article about a top lawyer demanding that a Scottish Green MSP remove herself from a board because she called the EHRC bigots. What they didn’t tell you is that the lawyer in question is a Tory and a terf. But yeah not biased at all to not highlight that the ‘respected’ lawyer is a gender critical prick.
