I've started reading this whole list and already seeing so few for the likes of Alicia Keys & Amy Winehouse (3 songs each) and Bjork (just 2) is a shock. Thank you again for everything, this extra nerdy stuff is just what I love and find interesting about people's tastes here.

So my approach when voting was to pick my top 2 songs of each year and rank them within 20-11 points for 1st place and 10-1 points for 2nd place, I'd already spent time picking my top 50 tracks of the year going back to the '90s during lockdown so it seemed like a fair way to vote; but of course it meant missing out many iconic songs that made it high up the rankings too. Glad that I had a hand in the top 3 though, very cool to see. Crazy In Love is just such a star making moment, which is wild when Bey had already been a star for years. I'm sure lots of effort went into making it feel so effortless, but you don't see any of the seams, it's just a fantastic song & music video combination.
Bad Romance was the moment I paid attention to Lady Gaga. That first clutch of singles were a bit off putting to me, where Crazy In Love looks seamless, early Gaga wanted you to see every single detail and how much crafting had gone into the songs, the looks, the dancing. And I get why people loved that, but it wasn't for me back in the day... but then Bad Romance hit at the end of the decade and just clicked everything into place, that ferocious, stadium sized blast of fun.
Pure Shores started the decade off right, and it sounds so timeless. Beautiful songwriting, chill production, glacial vocals, just absolute gold.

Maybe not all PJ faves but these were some 10/10s that came to my mind missing from the list

The biggest omission I've noticed was certainly Whenever, Wherever. I would have even expected other big Shakira moments like Hips Don't Lie or She Wolf but the majority aligned in favour of La Tortura.
Some low turnout for Florence ":(". I guess people saw Cosmic Love as more of a 2010s single? Perhaps similar with Telephone? Also Madonna stans kinda didn't show up for the American Life era. Poor Nothing Fails!
