As for Thursday - what can one say? I have a lot of fond memories of the 2000's emo era, as anyone who had a Myspace at that time should. But let's be honest, a lot of that stuff aged like milk. So I give its slot on my list to Thursday, the band that made emo a viable pop genre - and still the ones from that era who did it best. The emotion and powerful lyrical imagery here is undeniable, and it has that quality where you just HAVE to sing along. Or in my case, hurt myself yelping along to the "TIME IT TAKES" backing vocals...
