Kimba is just so good at spoken word parts.
I almost voted for Something Kinda Oooh when I was going to have two Girls Aloud songs in my ballot, but in the end I only went for one, which hasn't been mentioned yet. I also didn't expect it to leave this early.

Annie - Anthonio - Love this and remember thinking it'd do better than it did, when I hosted Annie's selected discography rate.
Cheryl Cole - Fight For This Love - I actually haven't listened to her solo albums in quite some time. One of the better non-Million Lights singles.
Anastacia - I'm Outta Love - A great discovery during her discography rate.
Paramore - Let The Flames Begin - Not particularly a favorite of mine but still love it. Amazing album and pleasant surprise to see their less-heralded songs make it.
Hannah Montana - Life’s What You Make It - Classic Music Is Death entry. Classic bop.
Lily Allen - Not Fair - Love the odd the backing track is compared to words, I don't know they just don't line up for me but it works anyway. Has a lot bit of its charm for me over the year if I'm being honest but still slaps.
Perfume - Polyrhythm - It's pretty good but no where near a favorite and still surprises me how it won the Perfume rate.
Girls Aloud - Something Kinda Ooooh - A bop that single-handedly keeps the wig industry going.
Surprised to see exit - Something Kinda Ooooh
XMas Day is another I didn't expect any other voters for, but there's only a few more of those. My Top 10 is much more PJ Friendly.

Let me make this clear, this placing is purely for the Freemasons Remix. They took what is a catchy but relatively subdued track and sprinkled their flawless brand of 00s disco house magic on it and created something truly spectacular. In fact, during the 00s I ate up everything the Freemasons did. Everything they touched turned to gold. Beyoncé’s incredible EP with them, leading to Kelly, Solange, Sophie, Kylie, Shakira, Whitney and so many more creating classic remixes. That is not forgetting their brilliant singles. This remix of Beautiful Liar was when the country finally paid attention sending the song soaring to number one, a true popjustice. It’s an addictive shot of adrenaline that never fails to set my world alight when I hear it.

In case you couldn't tell, that was me asking for me. I don't have friends. And I truly thought this soundtrack existed somewhere, not having been bought by anyone, cause I doubt anyone has ever even seen this Christian Blake movie it was recorded for. When researching the entries on my list a bit closer, I realised I was mistaken but also no one said anything, so... hope you can forgive me this little scammery. I was transfixed by "Don't Leave Me Alone" ever since stumbling upon it while digging into my fave Saturday's past music. Obvs, Una's not better off solo but... I do believe she had a mid-00s soft rock album in her and, considering what her tone does to me, I'd have cherished it.

Australian Idol was basically my life during the 00s. I never missed an episode, and feverishly (and perhaps foolishly) was always incredibly hyped for the post-show releases from the contestants I was certain would go on to have mammoth careers *cough*. Kate DeAraugo was the winner of the show's 3rd season in 2005 - and 'Faded' was her first single following the obligatory winner's ballad.
Kate was never my favourite Idol contestant, but this is up there with my favourite Idol alum song of all-time. Penned by The Veronicas, 'Faded' gained more fame when Cascada covered it - but let's be real gals, this pop-rock version is 200% where it's AT. It sounded like something Kelly, Avril, Ashlee or Hilary would have turned into a hit - but instead, it was the last solo single Kate released. I still smash it to this day and force it down the throats of anyone who'll listen to a madman, rambling on about how good some of the post-Idol music was.

Everybody's Fool and Filthy/Gorgeous are some classics I haven't heard in years - revisiting those is the thing I love the most about running this thread. Faded reminds me that I had to cut The Veronicas from my list, which is a bummer. I was really missing out not knowing that remix of Beautiful Liar all these years - imma call in an assault cause slapping this hard can't be legal!
