Love Song will always have me in a nostalgic mood over the mid-to-late 00s crop of singer-songwriter one hit wonders (think Lenka, A Fine Frenzy, even Daniel P*wt*r). Easier times...

Life goes fucking on. A true classic if there ever was one! I also adore Right Here (Departed) a lot! Both songs that are toptier in their respective discographies and a necessity in this countdown.

I lost Evanescence's Everybody's Fool. This song is so powerful to me as it spoke to me as an early teen, while it isn't supposed to do that. There is a dark depression within the song that wants you to live up to certain idols and expectations. In high school I wanted to be popular, but wasn't. Later on I learned that the popular people where not better off than I was. Something however one does not realise at that age. Shoutout to the amazing music video. It captures the song's mood effortlessly and let's you understand the whole ordeal self. Later on the song spoke to me in a different manner and one that is more in line with the actual song message. Celebrities - specifically the gay ones - being picture perfect with great lives and amazing bodies. Also in the gay scene with a standard I felt difficult to achieve. With the way they presented theirselves via social media it felt like a concept that seemed obtainable, but simply was a bar unreachable. A goal set to high. It still amazes this song was released before the rise of social media. Amy Lee is a queen truly ahead of her time. Now in my thirties I am older and in fact wiser. Every Men's Health magazine cover is fooling you. The awareness must be find. And than the irony is that you actually meet your expectation with a high set bar.
