MÁGICA | CALCINHA PRETA

Voted By: @Ana Raquel
Year: 2005
Country of Origin: Brazil

As a Northeastern Brazilian, of course there had to be a forró track among my favorites!!!!

My favorite forró track is Aviões do Forró's Pegadinha do Inglês but there is some #confusion regarding its year of release and since the album it is in was released in 2010 (or 2011), I ended up with my second favorite forró song, which is Mágica.

This is a mix of childhood memories (as I used to go to my family's town) and university memories (as we always had nostalgic forró-das-antigas sessions before class). Also Ao Vivo Em Belém Vol 2 you will always be a star!!!

LONG WAY 2 GO | CASSIE

Voted By: @Ashling92 (5) @Runawaywithme (6)
Year: 2006
Country of Origin: USA
Appearance: 2nd

Runawaywithme Commentary:
A sassy bop with an instrumental that feels like it was created in outer space and beamed down to earth. Also, Cassie for all her limitations - sounds absolutely incredible here as she spits these verses with a self-assuredness and confidence that I wished I had. I mean - “I love it when they try to get scandalous, Even though they know they really can't handle it,(They can't handle it?), They can't handle it, Try and take me out to dinner, I'll cancel it” - one of my favourite pop moments ever. Also, Look out for my Casse rate! Coming soon, I promise!

If somebody asked me 'What is your pop music aesthetique?' I'd reply 'crying at the discotheque.'

Never Gonna Dance Again is the definition of 'crying at the discotheque, and is underrated; it's in my Sugababes Top 12. Fantastic choice @WhenTheSunGoesDown

I had a very tough choice between 'I Begin To Wonder' and 'Put The Needle On It.' I'm glad I went for 'Needle' in the end, as nobody else voted for it: so I'm very happy to see @SophiaSophia voted for 'I Begin To Wonder.'
