Hole in The Head while not being my favourite Sugababes single by any means is still absolutely incredible. It's the perfect combination of the hard-edged signature attitude of the band combined with those trademark glossy Xenomania hooks. Overload being out this early however, is the real crime.
If there's any justice here, Push the Button will be top 10 hopefully.

13 Pointers Recap:

Nelly Furtado - All Good Things (Come To An End) - Another epic somber-bop from the queen of doing them.

Michelle Branch - Are You Happy Now? - One of the best examples of a super aggressive chorus on a pop-rock song. Pairs so wonderfully with screaming at the top of your lungs. If you aren't reaching for a drink after -- at minimum -- or have no voice at all, then you're doing it wrong.

Aly & AJ - Chemicals React - Doesn't get the pub that Breakup Song does, but it should. Are You Happy Now?-lite actually with the style of shout-it-out chorus.

PNAU - Embrace - One of my favorites discoveries from the New Zealand rate, this is pure fire!

Lights - February Air - The Listening seemed to be ranked 3rd out of three albums when we did her discography rate back when those were Lights' only ones. That was a travesty to me, because it's my favorite and this is one of my favorites from it. Never expected it to show up here!

Hannah Montana - Nobody’s Perfect - Maybe her best song as Hannah.

Sylver - Turn The Tide - As I said when this first got posted, Silvy genuinely has one of the best singing voices I've ever heard. My favorites are always going to be the 'iciest' ones or higher-pitched ones (without getting cartoony). Her's are so uniquely in this category and nobody has anything close to it.

Taylor Swift - You Belong With Me _ I actually loathed this when it was hit, but since I've become a Taylor fan it has become one of her biggest anthems.

Biggest Surprises To Be Gone Already

Michelle Branch - Are You Happy Now?
Mary J. Blige - Family Affair
Leona Lewis - Bleeding Love
Sugababes - Overload

THE GIRL AND THE ROBOT | RÖYKSOPP

sfmartin commentary:
love the juxtaposition in this track of a gorgeous, ethereal choir in the background, with the mechanical, industrial instrumental. Effortlessly capturing the title of the song. Royksopp have always been one of my favourite artists and for me this captures them at 110%. Flawless and captivating. Robyn sells it to the moon and back. A Perfect combination.
